Season 9+ talk page policy exemption

NaN is already a player whose story closely intersects with the main story of Blaseball. After the Season 8 election, NaN and two other players received the permanent Flickering modification and the permanent Receiver modification. Given the potential volatility of NaN's team membership and in light of our newly announced Collaboration Guidelines and Procedures, I want to announce a couple things.

  • For feedback related changes to NaN's page, any proposed changes need to be relayed to Administration before they will be considered. The Tacos discord community and external Taco server have devised a roadtrip narrative to account for NaN possibly going to several new teams very quickly, and they are working very hard to make sure that all of NaN's stops are represented in the narrative that follows. A pitch for these changes will be posted to the talk page after they are discussed by the teams involved, but these changes will not be subject to the 24-hour proposal period in situations where NaN moves around very quickly.
  • For other changes to NaN's community-generated lore, the collaboration guidelines and procedures should be followed as normal.

As always, feel free to reach out if you have additional questions. Nesblitt || Admin || nesbitt#1991 (talk) 04:19, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

Several weeks later, we finally have NaN's adventure written and posted. It's been preemptively approved by admins. BlaseballSteve || Admin, Founder || Steven_#3235 (talk) 20:41, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Update to NaN's player page to establish current fan-lore.

- Update to Background as Wyatt Mason: Have the name in this section changed to Wyatt Mason to better represent what we knew of the character at the time.

-Add the following section to the wiki after Background as Wyatt Mason:)

Background as NaN —--- After the events of the Unmasoning NaN appears to be a void in physical space that bears the rough shape and general personality of Wyatt Mason. It is presumed that this was simply a radical change in form, not altogether unknown in the world of blaseball, however physicist and Mexico City Wild Wings pitcher [Burke Gonzales] has theorized that NaN may in fact be an independent entity; the space in reality that was left behind after the original Wyatt Mason.

Regardless, NaN has continued to play to the best of their ability. This has been met with somewhat mixed success as their presence in reality is occasionally inconsistent. Their body seems to gain or lose physical coherence in accordance with NaN’s mental state.

After the conclusion of Season 8 NaN has forged a connection with the [Blaseball Mic] and has taken their new Flickering and Receiver traits as a sign that they must go on a journey to find themself.

NaN and Lore Machine

Hiya, Taco here! The Tacos recently added a new staff member to our wiki page, who is named Lore Machine. She literally came to me in a dream after elections on Sunday. The only "canon" we have about her is that she's a sentient laptop who travels around on a roomba and is the Tacos' Facilities Manager. However! One of our main ideas about her is that NaN bought her with their pocket money to write their Blaseball fanfics on and she quickly gained sentience for unknown reasons, and we want to run that idea by everyone before making it official, because we don't want to step on any toes.
