I think part of the original pitch for it also had to do with her being caught up in the many versions of the players on the Garages - since the way she experienced time meant she had overlapping ideas of who people were, so part of the emphasis there is also being in a new place with new people. who she had no prior experience or expectations with.

For the use of "giddy" we can probably swap out something like "enraptured" that might capture the energy better?
