Steeled is a Player Modification, first seen during the Season β23 Latesiesta via the Gift Shop.
Effects
A Player with a Steeled Item can protect themselves and other Players from Consumer attacks, regardless of if that Player is on their team or not. Protecting from an attack reduces the durability of the Item the same as when a Player protects themselves with a non-Steeled Item.
When a Steeled Player is attacked by Consumers, the following message is displayed:
CONSUMERS ATTACK
STEELED [PLAYER] COUNTERED WITH THE [ITEM]
In comparison, when a non-Steeled Player holding an Item is attacked by Consumers, the following message is displayed:
CONSUMERS ATTACK
[PLAYER] DEFENDS
[ITEM] DAMAGED/BREAKS
History
The Steeled modification was first seen during the Season β23 Latesiesta as part of the Steel Chair Drop offering in the Gift Shop. In the initial run, 13 Steel Chairs were granted via the Gift Shop.
Players holding a Steel Chair would go on to defend themselves, teammates, and opponents from Consumers for the remainder of Season β23 and into Season β24.
