The Microphone is an entity that first appeared at the end of Season 3, and was first mentioned in the description of the Interviews decree.

In the days before Season 4, a Twitter account called The Microphone (@BlaseballMic) appeared. It is not fully confirmed if @BlaseballMic is also an official Blaseball account, but fans suspect this to be the case.

History

The Season 3 elections saw the successful passing of the Interviews decree, which was described like so:

  • The microphone lifts
  • ERROR: The Grand Unslam Weakened The Bridge
  • Spacetime Tears over Los Angeles
  • The Infinite cit(ies) shine
  • Platonic Form Corrupted
  • You've looked too close...

The first line is the first mention of The Microphone; a description that was especially cryptic at the time with no noticeable effect. However, past seasons have set the precedent that all of the descriptive text in a decree is meaningful.

On August 20, the Twitter account @BlaseballMic was discovered to be posting cryptic messages suggesting that The Microphone is a sentient entity that had come into existence (such as "hello? [...] where am i? [...] who am i?"). In the following days, the account tweeted: "I can see everything" and, "why can't they hear me [...] it's me [...] wyatts".

On the opening day of Season 4, The Microphone tweeted, "they don't know [...] it's all happening".

Feedback

Season 4 opened with the subtitle Feedback, a word that may partially refer to audio feedback such as from a microphone.
