Matteo "The" Prestige was a rotation pitcher for the Charleston Shoe Thieves from Season 1 to Season 3. Prestige gained notoriety during the Season 2 playoffs for their clutch pitching in a do-or-die game against the Dallas Steaks. They were incinerated on Day 57 of Season 3 and replaced by Gunther O'Brian.

During Season 3, Prestige swallowed a stray peanut and suffered a severe allergic reaction, significantly impacting their performance as a pitcher. Despite this they continued to play until being incinerated during a 21-16 shame loss against the Kansas City Breath Mints on Day 57.

History

Early Career

Prestige began playing Blaseball in the early XX's and had a somewhat notable career in The Underleagues, playing for nearly every known team, frequently simultaneously. Prestige spent their early season as a batter, before experiencing the longest streak of Hit By Pitch plate appearances in Blaseball History and declaring, in XX, that "I intend to make recompense for the grievous sins which have been done unto me." Since then they have performed as one of the Shoe Thieves' best pitchers, second only to Cornelius Games.

Incineration

Reportedly, following the game, Prestige turned to fellow player Velazquez Alstott and said "Hey, Twofer, remind me, what comes after The Turn again?" Before Alstott could respond a rogue umpire Incinerated Prestige, whose last words are recorded as "Yeah, that's what I thought."
