Background

Karato Bean is a five time national surf champion. Prior to the first season, Karato had a video game deal in the works, but he decided to enter the ILB in memory of his late father, who he had a tumultuous relationship with. He honestly would much rather be surfing right now.

Trivia

  • When stepping onto the mound, the crowd simultaneously cheers "Surf's Up!" to get Karato energized and "Surf's Down!" to discourage Karato from leaving in the middle of the game to surf.
