In Literature

Crabs Poet Laureature Runolfio Peeper wrote the following poem about Best:

Whose wood this is I think I know
His back is all of crab legs though
And from the trees he did appear
To take the stage in blaseball’s show.

The other teams all find it clear
This wooden monster we revere
Has strength to make the bleachers quake
With psychic blood and oak veneer.

And just before a game he’ll break
Into a bank, that he might take
A plunder either rich or cheap
His pregame ritual to slake.

The crabs will rise up from the deep
And for that time it’s Best we keep
Our dreams set on a series sweep,
Our dreams set on a series sweep.
