The Air Bud Clause is a rule in the Blaseball Rulebook. (Not to be confused with The Book of Blaseball, which contains the rules of the internet league instead of those of the game itself.) It states "Anything not explicitly prohibited by the rules is to be allowed at the Umpire's discretion."

This clause has attracted controversy, with critics complaining that it leads to a massive and ever-growing list of new restrictions that bloats the rulebook. However, as many teams take advantage of it in a variety of ways, a change to the clause is generally regarded as extremely unlikely.
