'''Abstract:'''

Subject Elwin McGhee, subsequently referred to as Subject E, previously exhibited the ability to travel through a fourth spatial dimension to an alternate plane. Following their arrival into this reality, they appear to have lost this ability. Previous tests have revealed that they still have minor influence over their resonance in the fourth spatial plane, resulting in unusual visual phenomena (“Blurring”) and periods of highly increased speed (“Baserunning”). While Subject E did undergo a form of dimensional travel upon being swept away in a way of Immateria, they described the qualia of the experience as “similar but ultimately distinct”, leaving them stranded “Elsewhere”. <br />

<br />

Metalloid “X” was obtained from a sample freely given by one Freemium Seraph. The substance is largely metallic in character but displays an unusual mutability when exposed to resonant frequencies. Furthermore, it appears to amplify frequencies exposed to it.<br />

<br />

Research partner Yusef Fenestrate, an expert in fundamental frequencies, harmonics and their practical applications, was unfortunately absent for the testing phase due to being similarly relocated to “Elsewhere” at the time of experimentation. However, their research and notes were heavily referenced through the research phase.

Testing appears to have involved targeting the sample of metalloid “X” with an array of PsychoAcoustic systems borrowed from the Tokyo Fitness Centre, each emitting an isolated frequency initially measured by Fenestrate during a “Baserunning” event <ref>Fenestrate, Y et al. 20XX  ‘Hey Batter Batter Ring: On the Harmonics of Partial Extradimensional Shunting’, ''Tokyo Fitness Centre, Research Department'', pp. 20-25</ref>.

Lacking the specific expertise of Fenestrate, the experiment ended catastrophically with the sample of metalloid “X” reverberating the frequency outward, enveloping the entire research lab. Strongbody, McGhee and Seraph were caught in the affected radius. None of the personnel present reported loss of consciousness or sense of self. According to Strongbody (20XX, pp.145) in the addendum, “initial tests reveal inconsistencies in the genetic make-up of the affected subjects”. Strongbody further posits that his running theory is that “the extradimensional oscillation failed to shunt Subject “E” to their home dimension and instead shunted something back into ours. However, additional testing is required to confirm this hypothesis”.

COMMUNITY REPORTS
The remainder of this article contains lore created collaboratively by the Blaseball community.
A navy and light blue logo of a skull and crossbones. Within the eyes of the skull are the kanji for Tokyo in white. The skull is flanked by light blue flowers. Past the flowers, there is a salmon with legs on either side of the logo. The word "TOKYO" is written in white across the forehead of the skull and the word "ADRIFT" is written across a banner in the jaws of the skull.
An artist's rendition of The Tokyo Adrift's logo, based on sketches and descriptions in the journal. The more ornate design depicted is styled after the ornamentation of the ship's stern; Simpler versions were used for flags and as insignias.

The following accounts can be traced to a single leather-bound journal originally found in a locked wooden chest alongside a sextant-like device of indeterminate origin and a shell that matches no known species of mollusc. The chest was located in a storage room in the Legscraper’s lower levels that was described as “smelling faintly of the sea”. Subsequent attempts to locate and navigate to said room have been unsuccessful thus far. The journal details the exploits of the crew of a large sailing vessel, The Tokyo Adrift, descriptions of which are largely consistent with mid-17th century galleons.
