Whoever wrote the original lore obviously had a lovecraftian "gone mad from forbidden knowledge" idea in mind which is great from a "mental illness horror" genre perspective. However, some people in the discord were upset by real-world echoes of mistreating mentally ill people, so I've tried to subtly change this without altering the author's intent.
