A fully metallic creature that takes the form of a many segmented worm. Their exteriors are usually composed of a brass-like or tin-like material although ones made of steel, gold, and ceramics have been documented before. Inside each segment is an incredibly complex self-assembling clockwork mechanism, the full nature of which has still eluded UP mechanics to this day. Each worm has a unique gear-configuration, although lineages can be traced out by comparing their internal structures. Clockworms are often found gnawing their way through gearboxes, much to the chagrin of many mechanics. If left unchecked, a gearworm will grow to incredibly large sizes, with a notable specimen having worked its way through 4 stories of a clocktower.
