Betsy Trombone is the starting pitcher for the Philly Pies. They are a member of the storied blaseball Trombone family along with their sibling, Rhys Trombone. Unlike Rhys, however, Betsy was cloned from a Cretaceous Period trombone preserved in amber found in a Peruvian mine by wealthy industrialist Reginald Trombone, the patriarch of the Trombone family. Placed into a gestating blaseball egg and slathered in the transbiological matter of retired blaseball players, Trombone ultimately hatched as an inextricable amalgam of brass and flesh and was immediately called up by the Pies without playing in the Underleagues.

Well-liked by their teammates, Betsy has a carefree and trusting nature. They are a hugger.
