Bates Bentley is a pitcher for the New York Millennials. Born and raised in Yonkers, the New York native pursued art before turning to Blaseball.

Music Career

Bentley has been active in New York City’s rap community since XX04. Bentley mentioned in a tell-all interview that he was inspired to "pick up the mic" by a collection of Strelch and Lobbito bootleg tapes given to him by his older cousin.

His first mixtape, released in XX05, was met with modest support from locals. Bentley’s XX07 follow-up full length tape earned praise from fellow New York City rappers L-God and Ladakiss as well as producer Larry Fraud.

Bentley’s sophomore LP was delayed multiple times during negotiations with labels, but ultimately a deal never materialized. After un-mastered demos from these sessions were leaked by hackers, Bentley stepped away from rap professionally and began a career in Blaseball with the Millennials.

Most recently, Bentley can be seen in the background of the music video for “Euro Step” by Buffalo rapper Lestside Gunn. Bentley says he still listens "voraciously" but is "too busy with Blaseball" to return to making music for now.

Tabloids have speculated that Bentley's sudden retirement from rapping is due to him sacrificing his creative abilities to a dark power in order to make himself and the Millennials stronger at Blaseball.

Also, he is a Mai Tai.
