Heliotary subpages

Hey folks, this page is getting pretty unwieldy-large at this point so I'd like to propose the moving of sect info to separate subpages. An infobox can be added to each so things like dates active, iconography, objects of worship or suchlike can be in one easy-to-look at box. A summary of each will remain on the main page.

A couple of headings suitable to most could also be added to each subpage, e.g. History (subheading for Season 11 Black Hole), sub-sects/divisions, relationships to other sects. If there's other subheadings you also feel would be suitable (even for just the one cult), please let me (Schazer) know on Discord. If there's no objections to the proposed change either here or on discord, I can make sure to implement any special requests while shuffling text around onto different subpages.

New splinterings following Sol's collapse

A list of minor sects that arose following the collapse of the Sun, the swallowing of the moon, and the rise of Sun 2. These would ideally be described/their circumstance explained in just one sentence, with the opportunity remaining for someone to pick one up, run with it, and make a whole new subpage.

  • HELLIOATRY (worships the Hellmouth instead)
  • HELIOLATRY (cult of spelling things correctly)
  • HELIOATRY 2 (normal helioatry, but with a 2 appended to everything cuz we're worshipping Sun 2)

The Voidlings

Wrote a small blurb for a new sect that worships the Black Hole instead of the Sun, following its emergence:

The Voidlings

One of the newest sects of HELIOLATRY to emerge, following the swallowing of Sun and Moon by a Black Hole and the emergence of Sun 2, the Voidlings hold with the belief that Sun 2 is an imposter and should be shunned and not worshipped. Instead, they believe that the Black Hole is the true successor of the Sun, as that holy body was consumed by the Void, and that eventually the Void shall return their worship with its embrace.

Members of the Voidlings are one of the easier sects to pick out amongst the followers of HELIOLATRY - echewing more comfortable wear for the desert of the Hellmouth, they instead attire themselves in heavy black robes and cloaks, adorned with the swirling blue and purple patterns of their object of worship. They tend to be one of the more evangelical sects, and shouting wars can often be heard between the Voidlings and other sects - calls of STARE INTO THE VOID and STARE INTO THE SUN getting tossed between groups of worshippers in one or another of Hellmouth's streets.

The members themselves tend to try and cultivate an occult vibe - though the one with 'Wizzard' on their hat will quickly proclaim that 'No, we're not all totally fans of Terry Pratchett and we're definitely not just cosplaying the Unseen University. Stare into the Void!'. Sect meetings tend to involve a lot of squabbling over various nothings, immediately followed by large potluck meals full of the strange foods of the Hellmouth - giant scorpion milk is a particular favorite. Rituals soon follow, the ominous droning so common to the Hellmouth rising into the night air as the Voidlings beseech the Black Hole for its blessings, to grant them its power to consume, so that they may soon bring the Hellmouth into the Void's embrace, and then go back for thirds.

The Sect of the Digital Circumbinary

Mantra: "Machina ex luce et umbra est." (Roughly "A Machine of Light is also of Shadow.")

Overview: The Sect of the Digital Circumbinary is a HELIOATRY sect that believes in the duality of light and shadow that comes from the Sun, specifically in the case of the digital world, where the 1s and 0s inherently mark the light and shadow in the existence of everything. This particular Sect has come to the forefront recently, due to the creation of the Black Hole and the existence of Sun2 in tandem with it, but they may have actually been in existence for an unknown amount of time.

The DCs (as they are colloquially known) are another oddity in the hierarchy of sects, as they believe in the power of shadow as much as light. However, this belief comes from the concept that shadow would not exist without light, and thusly is a part of the light itself and just as worthy of worship. Unlike the more 'shunned' sects, however, the Moon does not directly enter into the purvey of the DCs. The only real mention of the Moon is around eclipses, where it is merely a shadow source, a literal 'go-between' of light and shadow.

Their focus into the technological has an unknown root, but comes to bear powerfully in the modern day where electronics are as much of daily life as the Sun itself. DCs embrace technology fully, so much so that they have integrated it into things you would not expect: items like clothing and even body modification are on the table for DCs, but body mods are a pretty extreme form of 'worship' that are not for everyone.

Typically you'll find DCs with mini solar panels sewn into jackets / hoodies / backpacks / etc, charging batteries and powering simple things like cell phones, or more goofy things like digital signboards and pulsing runner lights (also sewn into clothes). Some of the lighter bod-mod work has included UV-reactive tattoos resembling circuits or binary code, and they use UV lights in their clothes (and the solar panels to charge them) to activate them when needed.
