Turntables

Turntables is a Decree introduced in the Season β18 Election offered by the Reader as a result of the Trust Fall Decree. Turntables causes any Win earned from a non-loss during the Regular Season will be converted to an Unwin, meaning that teams will lower in the standings throughout the season, with the teams who lost the most remaining in postseason contention.

The implementation of Turntables was a point of contention between the Reader and the Boss, with the Boss largely countering Turntable's effects with the addition of Sun(Sun) in Season β20.

Turntables was in effect from Season β19 until its Nullification by Black Hole (Black Hole) on Day 30 of Season β24.

History

Season 18

In the Season β18 Earlsiesta, the Reader's usual Tarot Reading began with out from under / take the over before being interrupted by the Boss, who announced that the Readings would henceforth be canceled and seemingly ended the Earlsiesta events early. However, the Reader reappeared on the website after a few minutes to say lighten up , and then completed the Reading with accompanying messages;

TRUST ME.

Following the Reading, Reader created a Decree of their own, entitled Trust Fall with the description "turn the tables. winning will be losing. trust me." This was offered as one of six possible Decrees the community could vote, with the top tree coming into effect and was available alongside the following decrees:

Wrecking Ball Gain Access to the Wrecking Ball to Remove unwanted Renovations.
Hype Train Build Hype in your Ballparks when you Shame Opponents.
On The House Teams will build an Additional Renovation at no extra cost each Season.
Climate Control Gain Access to Weather Reduction Renovations.
Ratification Renovations built by at least 18 Teams will be Ratified into Non-Physical Law for the entire League.

Trust Fall passed with 5,879,869 Votes, 67% of all Decree Votes and the following message:

STARS FALL
ASCENDING
BELOW ZERO
LEAPS OF FAITH
TURNING TABLES

This added Turntables to all every team's ballpark, where it was then immediately ratified into Non-Physical Law as a result of Ratification, which passed in the same election.

After the election the Boss appeared disapointed with the results, and gave the following message:

Well then
We won't deny it.
Today's Results are disappointing.
This will surely Tank the Ratings.
We may suffer Losses.
Don't worry
We're not angry.
This isn't your fault.
You were misled.
Together, We'll fix this.
We'll win.

The Reader responded with:

And the Monitor arrived late with the following message:

Season 19

Season β19 began with only a single Decree available for fans to vote on, which was:

Repeal Turntables: Repeal the Turntables Rule.

In the Earlsiesta the Boss appeared with the following message:

This season isn't pretty
Ratings are tanking.
But there's hope
The Seasonal Readings are cancelled
We've all had enough chaos.
We will Repeal this Corruption
Exit polls are showing a landslide
The Ratings will rebound.
We guarantee it.
It's a slam dunk.
Play Ball!

With the Reader's reappearance, they also added an additional Decree:

Under Achiever: unwin the underbracket. crown the underchampions.

Due to the implementation of Turntables, Season 19 was a very unusual season. Teams who were performing well drew closer to the bottom of the standings, gaining more Unwins than teams who were losing, resulting in strong teams gaining the advantages of Enhanced Party Time and weaker teams making playoff contention and battling it out for the Championship.

In the Season 19 Election, the Underachiever Decree passed, and the Underbracket was added to the League.

In response, the following message appeared as Sun(Sun) was implimented in the league:

  SUN(SUN) WAS FORGED
  SUN(SUN) WAS SET
- BLASEBALL WAS RAISED BY A SECOND POWER

The Boss concluded the season with the following message:

Nullification

After Sun(Sun) became a Supernova in Season β24, the effect of Turntables was evident for the start of the regular season. This lasted until Season 24 Day 30, when Richmond Harrison of the Miami Dale nullified Turntables by scoring ten runs under the Black Hole (Black Hole).
