Team History

Like all teams in the ILB, the Lift began as staunchly financially independent and planned on staying that way. However, alongside the public exposure that came with the beginning of Gamma 2, the Lift realized that they had the potential to turn the team into a money-making machine. The players individually began taking on side-gigs and sponsorship deals in order to further their financial gain.

Fans have complains that some of the products and services hawked by the Lift seemed a little scammy. In response to this, fan favorite Claire Glaive said in an interview, "Everything that we do is completely legitimate, and you can buy our products in the team's grift shop. Wait, I mean gift shop, don't print that--"

Following the incident, the Lift leaned into their newfound reputation and renamed the team merchandise shop the Tokyo Lift Griftshop. The team also made no effort to improve or legitimize anything they did.
