Regarding objectionable content on Tillman Henderson's page
The wiki admin team received complaints about three pieces of content that had been added to Tillman Henderson's page: a note that Henderson had a framed photo of Ronald Reagan, a note that Henderson had a tribal tattoo, and a short story about a time when Henderson destroyed a collection of clones of himself.
We have removed the references to Ronald Reagan and the tribal tattoo. It is our opinion that these were tasteless references and were not essential to the character of Henderson, which is that of a total narcissist and heel. Obviously, certain parts of Blaseball are explicitly political, but in general we would like to encourage authors to find creative solutions within the world of Blaseball, or in parody, rather than direct references to the real world. We also think that you can have a character who is a heel without them being vaguely racist.
As to the matter of the destruction of the clones: the wiki administrators have decided this is acceptable to leave on Henderson's character page. Blaseball is a game steeped in dark humor. Players die every single day (real time). This short story about Henderson destroying his clones is no more violent than anything that happens in Blaseball on a regular basis. Furthermore, this story is not explicit or graphic, somewhat less so than the regular incinerations of Blaseball. If the community decides that this bit of content is objectionable and cannot stay, we would ask that this matter is settled on the community level. The author who added this story, Revryebread, seems to also run the RP Twitter account for Henderson, and appears to be solely their creation.
We will not tolerate an edit war (should it come to that), as is the case in all wikis. If it comes down to that, we will lock this page to further edits.
Finally, as to the character of Henderson himself. We understand that it's been decided that this character is a heel and that no one likes him. We aren't going to police this core concept, but we would ask that people refrain from making this character bigoted in any way, in alignment with our Inclusivity statement. IRM Fork
In line with new wiki policies, I'm proposing this here first. I want to fork Tillman Henderson's IRM entries so there are two versions, both similar but slightly different tonally. One can be Tillman Classic, more in line with the original version of the character, who is a monstrous jerk that everyone hates - a landlord, an investment banker, an all-round loathesome rich guy - and the other can be Vanilla Tillman, more in line with the revised, gentler character that has evolved over time in the fan-lore channels. Most of the content will remain the same, but it'll be two different IRM entries with a couple of notable differences (all abiding by the objectionable content guidelines above); for example, Vanilla Tillman's favourite book is Ready Player One, but Tillman Classic's favourite book is clearly Atlas Shrugged. I'd also remove the Exxon-Valdez Oil Spill line from Vanilla Tillman, since it's out of character for a loveable jerk Jean-Ralphio type, but clearly in character for Tillman Classic. i'd like to backfill an IRM entry I was working on about tillman being a probationary member of the crabs in exchange for not being killed for being his father's son. stephen said that we should throw in IRM entries we were working on asap before turning over his character to the shoe thieves
Backfilling IRM
I (Crab here) would like to write an IRM entry about Tillman's relationship with Declan Suzanne, which was never added to the wiki in any significant capacity! During the first Chiclawgo series we worked out with the Firefighters that the two of them are just bros or perhaps Something More and it would be nice to have that written out as a rumor somewhere besides Discord.
