Riley is mentioned in a recent IRM proposal for Jode Crutch.

hello i am the artist of the current topper image, and i want to have it removed from the wiki currently ^_^ but i think some thought should be given toward what the new topper image should be, since it's still a dale image, i think some jazz hands art is appropriate here

After some recent, pretty clutch eclipse avoidance from Riley, Jazz Hands on the discord have proposed an update to his lore to reflect the good luck charm he has sort of become in eclipses. Is that a lot of hubris? Yeah.

Anyway, the block will be added to the static block about his time on the jazz hands, rather than his IRM entries and covers the following:

• That Riley has been responsible for protecting the team from incineration through his play, such as walking a Debted Silvaire Roadhouse or not allowing an incineration during an anniversary season of the last Jazzbeams double incinerations.
• That Fans have given him the moniker of just The Firewall.
• That Riley became focused on this after witnessing Bauer Zimmerman's incineration his first season with the Jazz Hands
• And that Riley heard the whispers of Them (his ritual is Listening to Them), including Raul Leal and another mystery voice, which will be formatted in the final block to link to incinerated Jazz Hand, Tamara Crankit.

A new version of the IRM will be rolling out soon, which requires specific markings & categorization for IRMs. One of those formats is the "summary" format, which is intended for varying summaries of a topic about the player that provide different contexts for ensuing static content. I believe this best describes Firewall's IRM as it stands, and would like to further specify that the IRM is a summary of Firewall's background.

Jazz Hands on the Official Blaseball Discord did a bit of jamming w/ the Dale (feat. the Georgias) of the server, and this is what we came up with. This will become a chunk of static content below the current IRM, as the IRM seems best described as a "summary" IRM (i.e. a collection of entries that mostly characterize any further content without themselves containing much narrative history).

• How did Riley (he/they, sometimes she too) handle the Feedback?
  • He's managing it better than you might expect. Miami held a lot of ghosts for them, and they needed some space. It helped that Howell Rocha appeared as Raúl Leal to send him on along the way after the Feedback. Scary in the way change is scary, but reassuring in the way landing after a short fall can be.
• What does Riley do in Breck?
  • Mostly nature walks, snowboarding, or otherwise disappearing into the mountains periodically. He & Geraldine Frost folded Liquid Friend into the relationship, as a bubbly foil to their more angsty emo personalities. They run door for the tragedies put on in the Pocket, but refuse to admit it's 'cuz they're actually interested in them. He also recruited Steph Weeks into his band on drums; together they play angsty metal w/ a bunch of other players from across the ILB. They also picked up more ASL from Mikan Hammer & Steph Weeks.
• What does Riley play?
  • Guitar & vocals in the aforementioned band.

The following is a popular version of Riley that has existed basically since their creation but just got written up. this rumor is by Cheddar and Styx!

Riley Firewall is the younger sibling of former Miami Dale player Raúl Leal, though not much is known about Firewall's early life prior to their recruitment to the ILB.

It is believed that prior to the events of Leal's last game, Firewall lacked the distinctive eyepatch that they have worn throughout their career; however, the player is notoriously tight-lipped on the subject, and hides the patch under a curtain of fire hair.

Early Life

Firewall was often seen in the stands spectating Dale games when Leal would play. After games, it was not uncommon to see the two sharing earbuds and excitedly discussing the game. It is understood that Leal was Firewall's entree into Blaseball, and taught them how to play in their childhood backyard.

The Incineration of Raúl Leal

On the day of the incineration, witnesses recounted that Firewall appeared to see the attack coming, and attempted to stop it. Leal turned towards the stands and smiled, and Firewall leapt over the wall to intercept. The ensuing explosion of fire engulfed Leal, Firewall, and the Umpire. After the smoke cleared, only Firewall was left on the charred ground, clutching a charred splinter of the Iffey Jr. in one hand and their eye in the other. They were quickly ushered from the field by team manager Mr. Wide while replacement deliberations were made.

After a brief time out, Firewall returned to the field with a bandage covering their left eye, and began to play. Spectators and opponents noted in later interviews that Firewall played the rest of the game with an intense focus, only looking to the crowd once when the game was over, to fix their gaze upon the darkly tinted spectator box high in the stands and point their bat directly at it.

Personal Life

Firewall is a notoriously unsociable recruit, rarely giving interviews or making appearances at league functions. Rumours of a secret relationship with Atlantis Georgias hitter Geraldine Frost have swirled since they were spotted together on the outskirts of an afterparty in a Miami club, however both are tight-lipped when questioned. Of this rumour, Miami Dale star hitter and Party Animals founder Logan Horseman said "why snitch when you can pitch?" When it was pointed out to Horseman that he was, in fact, not a pitcher, he fell backwards into a pool full of red jello, ending the line of questioning.

It has been suggested that Firewall was both present at, and responsible for, the 2013 split of New Jersey alternative rock band My Chemical Romance. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.

After many days of discussion the Dale discord fanbase has solidified approximately 5 interpretations of Riley Firewall and plan to use the IRM to display them independently. Some Rileys share characteristics, but each has unique aspects as well. The following are brief summaries of the main points of each version:

-Synthwave Riley is the sophomore effort of DJ/part-time scientist Melvin Ochoa, a sentient soundwave installed as a security measure at Worldwide Field which was activated in response to Leal's incineration.
-Meatloaf Riley's personality was formed by a music library of grunge, nu-gaze, and punk, whose older sibling Raul Leal introduced him to blaseball to keep him out of trouble.
-Clown Riley is made of code and trying to cheer everyone up after Raul Leal's untimely death.
-Item #MAO-305 is a temporal anomaly within Miami International Arena which claims to be named "Riley Firewall."
-Edgy Riley is Raul Leal's younger sibling, who gained fire blood while trying to defend their older brother from incineration.
