Crosspost from Freemium Seraph

Dot is mentioned in an update to replica!Seraph: "Seraph transferred to the Canada Moist Talkers in an attempt to re-find the joy that rep had found with the Lift. Rep was taken under the wing of the Talkers’ pitching coach PolkaDot Patterson, who had some experience with being touched by the forces that govern blaseball. Patterson reassured rep that rep still had a soul, even with repli Soul Swap partner in the Hall."

Polkadot and Alto Page reorganization.

I'm planning to update the page to better show that Alto is the current player. This will include: -Changing the default profile image to be Alto, with original Polkadot as another tab in the profile image. This will necessitate removing the rest of the polkadot profiles but they are all already in the gallery.

-Trying to position Altos lore to be more visible and move the trivia posts towards the bottom.

Move "In Literature" and "Nicknames" to be under Polkadot's heading, not Alto's

This bit of lore applies to Dot, not Alto, so it might make more sense if moved there.

Alto's Lore is Very Developed and Should have a Nonplayer Page Linking to Original

The Core Mechanics have developed a lot of lore for Alto. So much so, to reduce confusion, I suggest that Alto have their own nonplayer community lore page.

Nesblitt (talkcontribs)

Admin is not hot on this idea; we keep player pages confined to one place for records purposes. You should get in contact with Moist Talkers representatives or wiki liaisons to discuss this.

LexaByteNV (talkcontribs)

I'm coming a bit late to this discussion, but a collapsible section seems for Alto on PolkaDot's proper page to be the consensus. Just putting it into the records that this will be the most likely avenue for Alto's lore and other alternates with lots of unique lore until further discussion occurs. For now, Alto has no more than a stub page linking from the community lore Core page.

Nesblitt (talkcontribs)

The most likely outcome is that the alto page will be redirected here.

LexaByteNV (talkcontribs)

Yeah, and instead of their own page, Alto would just a collapsible section on PolkaDot's page here. Sorry for jumping the gun a bit on this whole situation.

Post-Lorejam for Alto and Dot

The Alternation
PolkaDot Patterson was alternate-trusted during the Season 16 Elections. Normally when a player is alternated, the original is lost forever and is replaced by an alternate version of themselves. In the curious crossroads of fate, the original Patterson was still found in full and well in addition to the alternate form of Patterson, who later identified as Alto Patterson.
Where is Dot?
The original Patterson was last seen coaching the Canada Moist Talkers pronounced lost forever from the ILB by its authorities. Patterson can also be seen making visits to several former teams, most notable of which being the Baltimore Crabs, Kansas City Breath Mints, Dallas Steaks, and the Core Mechanics, current home of Patterson's replacement.
Who is Alto?
Alto Patterson was originally an ace Glolf player from a universe where the splort was victorious in the Blaseball-Glolf Clonflict. They had found themselves transported to the current universe with no knowledge of Blaseball, a reputation as an all-star pitcher, and no grasp on what had happened. Timid and confused at first, Alto Patterson soon found themselves in supportive company in the Core. There they had sought out a new identity for themselves and took upon themselves a new name, Alto. (Dot is a glolf term.) Though finding themselves in an unfamiliar world with dangerous threats and no knowledge of their past glolfing friends and rivals, Alto Patterson only saw one direction to go: forward.

Core Mechanics lore ideas

- Alternate Dot is called "Alto" as a nickname, feels like they have big shoes to fill

- possibly from an AU where they're an ace at glolf

- The original Dot is still around, when Alto appeared the ILB never really noticed they didn't actually leave

- original Dot is now retired, came to the Core after being so burned out of blaseball shenanigans to recover. They're learning to make pottery to finally be good at something they want to be good at, also helps coach the moist talkers sometimes

- Alto and Dot are friends but Alto thinks it's just a funny coincidence their friend also has the same name as that legendary pitcher

(None of these are set in stone yet, these are just some of the various ideas that have been tossed around)
