Talk:Jasper Blather

Jasper is in your capable hands now! I just wanted to document on the wiki some of the ideas we came up with for Jasper while we had them. We really like IRM, so these were all probably going to get write ups, and with your permission, we would still like to do them. Anyway, on with the ideas!

- In general we wanted them to be nonbinary

- Jasper is literally just a rock with a uniform painted on

- A librarian who does dorky edutainment raps (this was arguably the most popular idea) “Well I'm DJ Blather and I'm here to say, we're respecting safety procedures in a major way!”

- A Fashion designer ("clothes mechanic") of some sorts

- Humanoid variation of any of the above that can also turn into a rock at will (a wererock)

- Guy with pet owl

There are actually two Jaspers Blather, who only became aware of each other during the Second Wyatt Masoning. Its currently unknown if thee echoing was the cause, or if it just happened to coincide with the split in reality that allowed each Jasper Blather to become aware of the other.

They each maintain a separate twitter account, @JasperBlather and @JasB_Core and occasionally interact, even when it's a little awkward.

Overview

Jasper Blather is a former Archivist of B.A.C.K. and current Player of Blaseball for the Houston Spies, having Roamed to the spies as of Season 18. Jasper's primary focus as an Archivist prior to becoming a Blaseball player was in literary works and public outreach, enjoying the moniker of "librarian," though the more 'proper' Core term is library mechanic.

Jasper Blather has a deep love of rap music, and likes to rap, despite being very poor at it. Jasper keeps up with most modern rap, and also enjoys more classic takes. The primary failing of Jasper is that Jasper does not have any flow, and thus even the best written rap is delivered poorly, albeit with enthusiasm. Jasper is a good musician with other instruments, and enjoys writing pieces that ey then raps over.

Appearance

Jasper Blather is a partial earth elemental, and as a result has "horns" and "scutes" as well as vitiligo that is made up of unrefined ore, such as but not limited to bauxite and sperrylite.

I would like to hear from Spies users about whether or not they actually want to use the IRM. It is not mandatory and has not been discussed.
