With the new wiki IRM updates, we need to assign huber's IRM a type so that ppl can read it. I'm thinking concept or filebox, any thoughts on which?

Snerkus (talkcontribs)

I'd say filebox, if only because one of the irms (mine lol) is a pretty different concept to the rest

I know that there were conflicting ideas for the IRM for Huber Frumple. I was envisioning the traditional model that allows for different interpretations, but I know that some wanted to have one interpretation (two worms-on-string glued together) with the IRM used for different personalities.

It seems to me that there are different enough interpretations to recommended the first one, and if multiple IRM entries want to borrow the same template or introduction, it would be simple enough to copy and paste them.

The objection I've seen to this approach is that some fans want to see a single interpretation of a new player put for a consistent characterization. This seems unfair to people who weren't present for the creation of this characterization and wish to contribute their own interpretation. It also seems unnecessary, as, if the majority of members of a community prefer a certain interpretation, that will be the interpretation considered canon for that community. There are plenty of examples, such as Jessica Telephone and Henry Marshallow, where interpretations have varied in different communities without being reflected on the wiki. Ultimately, I think this space should be used for individuals or groups who want to share their versions of players, and, given that there is no "canon," the IRM should be open and available for any lore ideas. Please post your thoughts whether you agree or disagree so that we can move forward together with creating Huber's page.

Ok, as I have received no response, I will go ahead and set up the IRM.

what if i just wrote a huber frumple thing

it's me snerkus your local bimbo and i'm just gonna word associate a character out!!!

Huber Frumple was a nationally renowned snake expert and snake salesman prior to his joining the ILB. In his ill fitting suit and snake-pattern briefcase, tie and hatband he would ply his trade all through the United States of America, selling snakes or snake facts to any suitably prepared customer. That is, until one day the Serpent Advisory Committee determined his snakes to be "Too Good" and Frumple found himself cut off from every contact he knew and on the run from the law.

Frumple, fearing for his life and his snakes, faked his own death and hastily constructed a fake identity, which he immediately signed up for the ILB. Frumple seldom speaks to anyone about his life before the ILB, but when he does, it's through scant mutterings of "they're just regular goddamn snakes, I don't get it", or hissed conversations with his serpents. Frumple still wears his incredibly identifying snake-patterned clothing, but with applications of boot coloring to dull the pattern. He claims this "dulls their power" but that it's "not enough to stop me, baby".

let me (snerkus) know what u think!!!!

Huber & Frumple are a pair of human sized worms made out of an unidentified fuzzy material that have been glued together in a vaguely humanoid shape. Frumple uses she/her, Huber uses he/him, and together they use they/them.

Huber & Frumple work together to bat, run, and defend. The two share a friendly rivalry, often trying to outperform the other and pushing their combined performance to greater and greater heights.

Frumple claims you can tell them apart because she always wears a top hat and monocle, though since the two worms are different colors this technique seems unnecessary. In addition, Huber has been seen wearing the top hat on occasion. Frumple claims the top hat means they are descended from worm royalty. Huber claims they bought it at a really nice costume store. Both agree that they are just the super coolest of spies but shhhhhh that’s a secret.

IRM/Lore Idea for Huber Frumple

Cass (talkcontribs)

Hi, here is a lore idea I kicked around with some Pies fans:

Huber Frumple is a hitter for the Philly Pies composed of two corporate espionage agents. These two agents work for rival federal defense contractors and were each independently sent to recover information about Pies hitter Jaxon Buckley's mechanical arms. When Farrell Seagull was traded to the Worms for a player named "Huber Frumple," a player new to the Internet Blaseball League, the two agents both arrived on the same day claiming to be Huber Frumple. Rather than blow their cover, they stumbled through an explanation that they both work together to play as a single blaseball player. It is unknown what happened to the original Huber Frumple who played for the Ohio Worms.

The two agents are typically called Huber and Frumple by others assuming those are their names, although it is never consistent which agent is called by which name. While "Huber" and "Frumple" stay professional and work together while on the field, they are mortal enemies while not playing blaseball, often leaving deadly traps and explosives in the other's path to prevent them from stealing the secret Jaxon documents.

As the two are espionage agents, they are accustomed to speaking in codewords, and the true meaning of the things they say is often indecipherable.

this is def cool, and could be good for an IRM specifically imo. i'm personally very in favor of the two woerm ona string glued together, one with a top hat and monocle, one without, that the Worms brainstormed in their lore doc.

Cass (talkcontribs)

I have not seen that idea. Maybe you could post it to the talk page for community discussion?

Synthy (talkcontribs)

from the discord pins in general-pies here's the link to the condensed Huber brainstorm the Worms sent over: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1g-VgZNLYmUbYSrIyJ5lZKlC0Shm3BVHd_wSuLrHum0E/edit#

we don't HAVE to keep to any of it, and there's multiple concepts in there, plus some stuff i feel is just stupid (the buttcheek batting idea is not worth consideration imo), but i personally like some of the two glued together Worm On a String concept, and i have noticed some amount of uptake of that concept in some of the discord, not that that's necessarily what matters.

if we wanted we could even syncretize the spy-vs-spy-esque concept with the worm on a string concept by conceptualizing the two corporate spies as being Worm On String people who glue themselves to each other each game to play (a part of the Worms lore brainstorm referencing Huber's pre-game ritual).
