Hi all! I have two updates for two IRMs of Hex that cover up through her time on the Lift. (edit: typo fix oops)

IF-19.581 (Narrative)

Stealing Shoes

At the end of Season 15, Walton found herself recruited by the Charleston Shoe Thieves. Despite not wearing shoes, Walton delighted in helping the Shoe Thieves steal shoes, and made a very good distraction so the heist crews could carry out their activities under lessened scrutiny.

Traveling to Tokyo

Walton was traded to the Tokyo Lift in Season 16 and promptly moved in with Silvaire Semiquaver, who was delighted to have another set of paws around the house. It certainly didn’t hurt that Walton was enthusiastic about helping Semiquaver with any heist-related tendencies that she exhibited. In return, Semiquaver took Walton on plenty of runs along the beach.

Due to the language barrier between her former teams and her new team, Walton was concerned that her “Apex Predator!” cheer would become a thing of the past. Instead Lift fans adopted the cheer as quickly as they adopted Walton herself, and cheered for her in both Japanese and English. She is on the record as being deeply appreciative of their support.

Halexandry Walton - Ambigous Canid IRM

Cuttlefishman (talkcontribs)

This IRM emerged from discussion within Magic - posting here for comments / additions, as always. Will be shopping around to other teams which have had her.

Halexandrey Walton ("Hex" or "Halex") is the name given to any of a wide variety of female canid or canid-like species which have played in the league, filling an otherwise empty slot in the lineup or rotation. The first observed occurrence of this was for the Yellowstone Magic, on Season 2, Day 64 as a replacement for the incineration of Sosa Elftower, when a coyote (Canis latrans) wandered onto the field. Current species which have been observed as Halexandry Walton include:

-Coyote (Canis latrans) -Grey/Red/Eastern wolf (Canis lupus) -Domestic dog (feral) (Canis familiaris) -Grizzly bear (Ursus arctos) -Red fox (Vulpes vulpes) -Black-tailed prairie dog (Cynomys ludovicianus) -Mexican priarie dog (Cynomys mexicanus) -Tanuki (Nyctereutes procyonoides)*

  • Only observed during Tokyo Lift home games.

Of these, by far the most common species witnessed is the coyote, including the specific initial coyote which replaced Elftower in season 2. Despite the fact that Walton is readily observed by fans of the sport to be a multitude of different specific animals and species, almost universally any active Blaseball players identifies her exclusively as a "good girl," "pupper," "puppo," or "fluffy-wuffy", seemingly confusing her with some domesticated canid. When asked, Blaseball players cannot identify what specific species she is nor can they identify that she is, in fact, a wild animal.

Would like to expand it a bit more, taking any suggestions.

Cuttlefishman (talkcontribs)

Current list of animals to add: -Spiny dogfish (Squalus acanthias) -Mainland Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) -Ussuri Brown bear (Ursus arctos lasiotus) -Maned Wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus)

Malgic (talkcontribs)

Omg yes I love this idea so much. Hmm.. I don’t have a ton of ideas to add. Maybe something about where they go/where they come from? Does Hex suddenly appear on the plate when she’s needed and disappear any other time or is it a “blink and she’s different” kind of deal? The bit about her filling empty slots in the lineup/rotation makes it sound like she only exists during games so it might be good to have clarification on whether or not she’s still there during the teams downtime + what that looks like.

Catr1312 (talkcontribs)

This is outside of Caniformia, but the Bobcat (Lynx rufus) is a largish quadrupedal predator that lives near Charleston WV, and based on wikipedia, many other Charlestons as well. Coyote would be a much more common form though I think, as seeing a Bobcat is a very special occasion.

I wonder if the different Hexs hang out? Maybe the animals come not just from wildlife near the stadium, but everywhere the team with Hex goes, a mixed pack of APEX predators follows.

Clockwork Worm (talkcontribs)

This was a discussion started on the old wiki...right as the new wiki was unveiled. Originally, IF-33.801 was linked *to* IF-19.581 as a google doc, but when the IRM became a thing, the two were split up. Both IFs are referring to the same version of Halex, and in fact IF-33.801 is rather confusing by itself.

I'd like to suggest linking IF-33.801 to IF 19.581 in the sentence "Halex described her recruitment process in an interview given during post-season party time", as it was originally.

Clockwork Worm (talkcontribs)

Edited for clarity! The proposed plan is to move IF-33.801 to be a subpage called "Halexandrey Walton's Season 3 Interview" and then link that on IF-19.581:

"Halex described her recruitment process in an interview given during the post-season party time of season 3."

(thanks, Inumo, for the help!)

33.801 has been moved to be a subpage of 19.581
