(most of the) Expansion Era update

For the congerie of souls: Move the paragraph that begins with “With each passing Blaseball season” to its own header that says “Blaseball Career”, then add this:

  • Blackburn was swept Elsewhere and returned without the bones of Miki Santana.
  • Yeong-Ho Garcia flipped them negative in season 21. Sometimes they appear as a white photonegative silhouette instead now

For the existential smokeperson:

  • Had panic attacks about holding the Golden Necklace despite never even getting a single level of Ego
  • Eventually said necklace was taken by Jasper Blather
  • was attacked during the season 20 postseason, but insisted that Math Velazquez had it worse. Refused to appear in public for some time after the latter was shadowed for it
  • Commissioner Vapor (joined Spies during the season 20 election) is also an amorphous individual made of incineration remains.
  • In season 22 Blackburn "partied" twice, but the Agency does not allow parties, so a picture portrays it merely faintly smiling

Proposal: Mark this as a filebox IRM

The two IRMs of Fitzgerald Blackburn are markedly different full character interpretations. A box of files is probably sufficient.

(Unified Concept with Fitz being the amorphous smokelike remains of an incineration could theoretically have been a possibility, but their origins, exact compositions, and personalities are almost totally different, so there's not enough common ground for me to even write a unified concept with.)

Dudley Mueller was also an S3 incineration replacement made of ashes that similarly ended up Scattered and disoriented on a new team, so presumably Blackburn took Mueller under their wing during the time it spent on the Spies.

Proposing a whole-entry IRM: Fitz, but as a smokespirit

It would go roughly like this:

Origins: The cloud of smoke left by Miki Santana's incineration stayed solid and became a batter, and was assigned the random codename Fitzgerald Blackburn. When asked why they refused to dissipate like normal smoke, they said they wanted to experience the world.

Agency Work: Blackburn's amorphous form can fit into extremely small spaces and escape from any room that isn't airtight. Blackburn is also excellent at telling when people are lying, but that's because of empathy that they've had to learn to control.

Blaseball Career: An acceptable batter who slowly improved into an excellent batter over the seasons, Blackburn remained a constant of the Spies roster until recently. Until season 13, their equally excellent pitching ability was highly classified.

Scattering and Trades: After Theodore Holloway's death, Blackburn let themself be swept away by Flooding and despair. They were traded to the Lovers to recuperate, where they proved to be an incredible pitcher. The next season, Fitzgerald was sent to the Spies' shadows (possibly due to paperwork interference).

Relations: Math Velazquez is in the world for the same reason as Blackburn is. A mutually supportive queerplatonic relationship with Alexandria Rosales. Confused and distressed by Hotbox Sato's existence. Refuses to talk about their relationship (or lack thereof) with Knight Triumphant.
