Beck's time with the Millennials update

1
Lazaretto RCO (talkcontribs)

While part of the Hawai'i Fridays, Whitney had a duel with Lil' Pitchy of the New York Millennials, in an incident referred to as "Beck Whitney Faxed a Baby". While taken in jest, Beck Whitney felt a little bad about sending the young roomba into the Fax Machine, and joined the Millennials during the Season 22 Elections. Whitney knew a little bit about the Millennials from her Fridays teammate, Bates Bentley, and she had been treated courteously upon arrival, though Thomas Dracaena seemed wary at first for reasons he preferred not to disclose fully in interviews. The two became fast friends, however, though a mutual love of gardening on the Apartment's rooftop.

Beck Whitney adopted a creature found in Central Park during her time with the Millennials, known only as "Dog", a wolf cub-like beast with mossy fur, red eyes, and a mass too dense for the average human to lift. Dog enjoys sleeping in Whitney's handbag.

After the Semi-Centennial, she helped lead Agan Espinoza back to New York, where they had mentioned something about a Clare Ballard in their past.

Beck is mentioned in a new IRM proposal for Isaac Rubberman, yet another early-seasons Flowers player. Beck is in two lines:

  • "After speaking to team captain Beck Whitney, Rubberman joined the team to help ensure that their presence in the Garden wouldn’t be detrimental."
  • "Ne also liked to make jokes about being too old for blaseball because ne was in nir 40s, jokes which often earned eye-rolls from Whitney and Chambers Simmons."

Hi there! Beck is mentioned in the new IRM proposal for Jorge Ito, an early-seasons Flowers player. Jorge and Beck became friends because of their similar kind-but-no-nonsense attitudes, and she wrote a column for his food blog about restaurants targeted towards vampires and other supernatural audiences.

Crosspost from Bryanayah Chang IRM

Hi all! Beck appears in a new IRM proposal for Bryanayah Chang, an early-seasons Flowers player who was incinerated. The TLDR: Brya ran an antique store, and Beck was a regular customer. The two of them became close friends, and Beck invited Brya to join the Flowers. You can check out the full page here on Google Docs, and the talk page proposal is here.

Hey all! Just flagging that Beck is mentioned in a proposed page update for Agan Espinoza. The mention consists of the two of them meeting on the Rising Stars, and falling back to the Millennials together.

Following Whitney’s revocation from the Miami Dale in the Season 14 election, Whitney joined the Hawai’i Fridays. Whitney quickly adopted a large floppy hat to keep her vampiric skin safe, as the Fridays’ regular cookout sites provided little protection from the sun. Whitney took some time to find her place within the Fridays, though she has since become quite happy as one of the star sluggers for the team.

Whitney joined the Fridays at the same time as Valentine Games, who she formed a quick friendship with. The two became close as they both struggled to find their exact spot in the vibe-heavy Fridays lineup, and they remained close until Games’ Vaulting at the end of Season 19.

Whitney found her place with the Fridays in part through the team’s emerging interest in birding. Her newly iconic large hat proved to be a perfect place for birds to perch after they retrieved foul balls during Bird weather, initially to the uproarious laughter of her teammates. Whitney rapidly developed a liking for her new feathery friends, though, and has since been one of the primary painters of the new birdhouses the Fridays prepare for every Bird weather game on the islands.

Whitney retained her Roaming status for three seasons, as she remained unsure of her place with the team, but a combination of growing affection for her team and her friendship with Valentine Games kept her with the Fridays. Following the Season 17 Election, her Roaming mod was Reformed to High Pressure, as Whitney committed to the Fridays and reaffirmed her dedication to getting her teammates home safe, even when the tide was pulling them out.

Whitney remains one of the Fridays’ strongest batters, and has supported her new teammate Don Mitchell as one of the Fridays’ primary base thieves - when she doesn’t immediately hit a home run.

Time with the Flowers

Though Whitney began as a player on the Boston Flowers, she was quickly promoted to coach for the team when the previous coach disappeared in the middle of a game, and Whitney was the only player who remembered how to play the game. After winning the match through a miraculous comeback, the Flowers decided that Whitney should remain as coach for the foreseeable future.

Beck led the Flowers for 6 seasons. As coach she was known for her "roll with the plunches" attitude, and was respected for her wisdom both on and off the field.

and move these bits to Personal Life:

Whitney was frequently seen both on and off the field with (at the time) fellow Flowers player Caligula Lotus. When asked about a potential relationship, a flustered Whitney declined to respond, but did comment that, "Cali keeps the sun off me when we stand next to each other."

After the events of Season 4, Days 54-59 (Vito Kravitz's feedback swap, Hotbox Sato's feedback swap, and Matheo Carpenter's incineration), Whitney's friend Combs Duende helped her calm down by talking her through it and braiding her hair in a milkmaid braid. After Duende's incineration on Season 4, Day 63, she decided to keep this hairstyle in memory of her friend.

Hello can someone let me in to make these changes? Thank you!

Miami updates - draft covers main points

TRANSITION TO MIAMI

Whitney enjoys going to visit Boston on weekends to see her Flowers friends and girlfriend, Caligula Lotus. Team boater Randy Dennis often ferries Whitney back and forth. Whitney attributes these trips to her close friendship with Dennis, stating, "Um, yeah, la familia was a little overwhelming at first. They're just so friendly, you know? Spending time with Randy one on one was really nice. They would tell me all about my new teammates so I realized how much we all had in common. You know Caleb and their wife are also a plant/humanoid couple too?"

MIAMI GREENHOUSE PROJECTS

Before Whitney joined the Dale, the team's batting cages were largely unused. Cannonball Sports was the only player who visited regularly, stating, "I mean, the pitching machines are just right THERE, and there's blaseball bats, like what did they expect me to do?" In a 2am pool party round table discussion, Whitney proposed revamping the batting cages into greenhouses. The efforts were co-lead by Wyatt Owens, who volunteered to turn the destroyed pitching machines into a new art piece.

The new batting cages, officially renamed the Pitching Machines Memorial Greenhouses, are now the Miami Dale's most popular practice spot; however, notably there are rarely broken windows and the busiest hours in the greenhouse seem to be between the hours of 11pm and 4am.

Whitney and Owens have also collaborated in starting the Miami Dale Mango Grove, where fruits are grown to use in treats sold in concession stands at Worldwide Field.

HOBBIES

Dennis and Whitney can frequently be found together underwater gardening, diving for shells at the bottom of Biscayne Bay, and surfing, which Dennis taught Whitney by having her stand on their back.

Whitney's go-to karaoke song is Total Eclipse of the Heart by Blonnie Tyler. Notable performances include the 2020 Daleween Party where she received raucous applause. She demurred an encore preferring instead to go dance, and handed the mic to Raul Leal, who performed Spitfire Kill the Noise Remix by Plorter Robinson. Team Captain Qais Dogwalker commented, "Yeah, Beck's got pipes. Look at that funky little vampire go! You simply love to see it."

Whitney frequently hosts tea parties in the PMM Greenhouses. Most frequent guests include lineup players Randy Dennis and Avila Guzman. Whitney will frequently conclude her parties with a small performance on the grand piano.

Dislikes: Tillman Henderson

Milkman (talkcontribs)

I feel like Beck is too kind to advertise her dislike of anyone, even if she does feel that way. I propose we remove Dislikes: Tillman Henderson from her rumors page entirely.

On a related note, I am told this was not a unique attribute added to Beck. Apparently someone added "dislikes: Tillman Henderson" to a TON of players indiscriminately a while ago and most of them have been removed.

You are free to remove it; no waiting period needed on this one.
