Judochop currently has one entry, and one proposed entry which incorporates the current entry. At the moment, the IRM isn't doing much and there are no current proposed alternate takes.

I propose that the IRM be removed and the content of the current proposed update be placed on the page, as it incorporates the content of the current rumour.

Proposed Updates based on Lorejam

1
Geometea (talkcontribs)

A proposed rewrite for Judochops page, incorporating existing on-wiki lore. Adelaide Judochop has a secret identity as superhero Captain Judochop, who bats for the Mechanics. Explores her life, personal relationships and participation in Core society in greater depth.

This would hopefully at some point incorporate an IRM describing the different forms of Captain Judochop. Unfortunately I'm not genre savvy enough to write them and so that's going to have to wait until someone else picks up the reigns.

Appearance

Appearance as Adelaide

Judochop is a brown haired human of average height who is of Oceanic descent. Due to damage to her joints she has modified her elbows to have reinforced hinges.

Appearance as Captain Judochop

Captain Judochop borrows from Tokusatsu as a genre inspiration. The superhero has multiple forms, with the Mourning Glory form becoming her dominant appearance towards the end of the Expansion Era.

Personal Life

Judochop is a Physiotherapy Mechanic and expert in mixed martial arts, though she lacks the proper certification to act as a licensed Punch Mechanic.

Judochop is an avid fan of the tokusatsu genre, and was initially rejected from the Mechanics lineup due to an insistence that the team build a Megazlord together. Despite the fact that Judochop has been allowed to join the team, the status of the Megazlord remains unclear. Like all Mechanics lineup players,Judochop has created a custom bat, which she refers to as the "Blattilizer." It is believed that this is linked to her ability to become Captain Judochop.

She has talked in interviews about her difficulty with anxiety as the reason why Captain Judochop often handles any and all situations involving public speaking, though has never clarified what exactly her relationship with Captain Judochop is and will outright refuse to answer questions which she finds to be too probing.

Captain Judochop is notably more confident and serves as a public face for press appearances. She is equally reluctant to discuss Judochop and has notably literally disappeared from a press podium in the past using her extraordinary speed and reflexes.

Judochop was born in Oceania a few years before the Return of Blaseball but left for the Core in her early twenties. It is believed that occasional superhero and close personal friend of Judochop, Ruffian Applesauce, was both part of her motivation to move and also took her under their wing upon her arrival in DownTown. Records from the time show that Applesauce was researching the Blattlizer Prime, a weapon retrieved after the defeat of the Shelled One’s Pods. It is believed that this was the base from which Captain Judochop’s iconic weapon, the Blattlizer Neo, was conceived.

Following Applesauce’s death shortly after the Mechanics joined the ILB, Judochop took their place on the team. This is the point when Captain Judochop also began making herself a name as a superhero. Judochop and Captain Judochop maintain that they are different people and their teammates treat them as separate individuals, though there are some rumours that they might actually be the same person. These have never been proved.

Following the Mass Alternation of many of the Core Mechanics in Season 21 and the decision by Fans to purchase a series of replicas in the hope of avoiding a repeat in Season 22, Judochop met Cote Loveless III. Due to the unusual status of the original Loveless as a hitherto unheard of Prehistory player as well as being both dead and vaulted, and the fact that Loveless III was possessing a robotic body instead of arriving with a replicated body, the team were not sure exactly what their new batter was. The pair entered into a romantic relationship over the course of the season which would end in tragedy when Loveless III was called back to both the Vault and the Hall.

It is believed that Judochop’s grief over the loss of Loveless III led her on a self-sacrificial spiral, as she took the Subtractor mod in place of any of her teammates causing all Runs Batted In to become negative Unruns. Captain Judochop’s appearance changed to the Mourning Glory and up until the Semi-Centennial exhibition match, Captain Judochop took over most of Judochop’s life and Judochop was rarely - if ever - seen. It’s unknown if the pair had a chance to talk during the Semi-Centennial match as Loveless III was in the Vault Legend’s shadows, but Judochop appeared to pitch.

Heroics

There has been a small community of Superheroes and Supervillains in the Core for a while, though it is commonly held that most of them are involved for the purposes of self entertainment or aesthetic commitment. Due to the anti-capitalist, community driven nature of the Core most people who turn to Villainy do it for reasons such as opinions on coffee options at local cafes, stubbing a toe or similar protrusion, or the death of a beloved plant.

Captain Judochop serves as both batter for the Core Mechanics in place of Judochop who only fields as well as being the most prominent Superhero currently active in the Core. Due to the fact that Judochop and Captain Judochop have never appeared in the same room together, as well as the loud henshin sequence that can be heard whenever Judochop has to bat, it has been alleged that Adelaide Judochop and Captain Judochop are in fact the same person. When confronted about these rumors, Judochop is reported to have said, "What? I have no clue what you're talking about. That's absurd. I don't even know what a captain is," before climbing out a nearby window to escape the press.

Captain Judochop is officially affiliated with the Mechanics, though the team's broadly non existent management has declined to comment on her vigilante activities and what management there is claimed that there was no player on the team named Judochop and that they’d never heard of someone by that name in the Core before disappearing in a burst of flame. Captain Judochop appears with the team at press functions, and is known to field questions for Judochop, who cannot attend due to a severe camera allergy. Independent investigators have found that Judochop and the Captain share lockers, luggage, food, and rooming accommodations, leading to rumors that the two are romantically involved. Captain Judochop declined to comment when approached about these rumors, and fled to the second floor before climbing out the window to escape the press.

Captain Judochop has had two notable archnemesis. Occasional roommate of Judochop and lineup companion, Evelton McBlase II, served as the vigilante’s first major challenge and Captain Judochop foiled dastardly plots such as filling a swimming pool with acid, stealing all of her left socks and kidnapping teammate Gia Holbrook to attempt to run Dloom on her face. Captain Judochop’s second and more persistent nemesis has been Mechanics shadow pitcher Kelvin Andante whose plots mainly revolve around UnFire related accidents and biodegradable glitter.

The Blattlizer

This serves as the source of Captain Judochop’s form, notable for its iconic transformation call. Following cranking the gear-shaped pommel and rotating the hilt to the desired setting, the Blattlizer makes the call ‘Blattlize!’, to which Captain Judochop responds ‘Henshin!’. The Blattlizer then shouts ‘1, 2, 3, Grand Slam! Captain Judochop!’ and plays Captain Judochop’s theme song.

The Blattlizer Prime was an ancient weapon of the Shelled One’s Pods, among the many that made the divine team as powerful as they were. Following the destruction of the Shelled One and the scattering of the team, the weapon was left lost and broken. It’s unknown how Applesauce got their hands on the blue-prints though some maintain that the Core Mechanics had a hand in building it in ages past. Applesauce recruited Judochop to help rebuild it as the Blattlizer Neo, originally intended as a weapon for Applesauce. They died before they ever had a chance to wield it but left it to Judochop. Despite initial fears that it would reject her, it instead enabled her to become Captain Judochop and fulfill Applesauce’s legacy.

Judochop hopes to further upgrade the Blattlizer into becoming the Blattlizer Kai which would include an Arm Cannon to boost her pitching.

In lieu of the recent update to IRMs, I will be giving the one on this page the filebox format as it feels most appropriate

Objections were raised, so IRM isn't being deleted.

Hillexed2 (talkcontribs)

I'd like to remove the IRM from this player's page. This player only has one rumor and is the result of a collaborative lore jam, and new ideas can be added to the page and enhance existing consensus instead of replacing the entire thing. It feels to me like we have a general consensus on Adelaide as a plural superhero with alter ego Captain Judochop.

Beelijah (talkcontribs)

I helped write that IRM, and I'd rather more people have a chance to write their own articles that incopororate the ideas they like instead of saying it all has to fit into the same page

Summary by Beelijah

IRM re-installed after waiting period

Inumo (talkcontribs)

The wiki mods were alerted to the installation of the IRM without prior discussion to this page. At time of discovery, it contained one entry - Adelaide Judochop/IF-83.294 - with default settings for the full page. The installation was performed by Beelijah, who can reinstall the IRM after 24 hours if there are no objections.

Adelaide Judochop Lore Proposal

3
DreamMachine (talkcontribs)

Adelaide was born in Sydney, Australia and found her way into the Core in her early twenties where she became the Physiotherapy Mechanic. Adelaide has been known to watch and collect merchandise from shows in the Tokusatsu, superheroes, and mecha genres. This love for the genres has even effected her Rubber Duck, as it now wears a helmet similar to modern day Power Rangers. When Adelaide isnt working or enjoying the previously mentioned media, she is known for practicing mixed martial arts. Over all, Adelaide has also avoided being seen in large close quarter public gatherings, and when she does she avoids eye contact. This behavior has also been seen with her team mates, although she seems more willing to be around them.

Adelaide is in the lineup, and like most other Mechanics Adelaide has modified her bat to be aesthetically similar to the devices used in those shows in order to transform, although Adelaide herself does not use it. When it is time for Adelaide to bat, she runs off the field and into the dugout. There muffled music along with flashing lights and the occasion puff of fog can be seen, before the Captain Judochop runs onto the field and onto the mound, usually holding the bat that Adelaide has made. Captain Judochop herself looks like a unique version of the super mode seen in a Tokusatsu show, with Core Mechanic insignia placed around the suit, along with a more mechanical aesthetic. No one knows who Captain Judochop is, but fraudulent rumors state that Adelaide and Captain Judochop are the same person. As to why Captain Judochop and Adelaide are allowed to be listed under one person, only the Blaseball gods know.

Captain Judochop also tends to fill in for Adelaide in large close quarters meetings such as press conferences and interviews, usually quite literally sitting in the same spot that Adelaide would otherwise. Judochop also insists on being treated just as if Adelaide was there, along with the team's general insistence. On top of this, Judochop is also known for sharing almost everyting with Adelaide, including lockers, luggage, food, clothing, and even their rooming situations.

Beelijah (talkcontribs)

What if we added a joke about there being speculation that Adelaide and Captain Judochop are married?

DreamMachine (talkcontribs)

I was thinking there could be multiple rumors like that.

Another Adelaide Proposal

1
Hillexed2 (talkcontribs)

Adelaide Judochop is a body mechanic and definitely not the secret identity of Core Mechanics batter Captain Judochop.

Adelaide is an extremely competent martial artist, able to punch straight through steel, but harbors some anxieties about how her martial arts abilities translate to a new splort. She is also a body mechanic, an expert in physiotherapy. Physiotherapy is an incredibly complicated undertaking in the CORE given the frequency with which mechanics fiddle with their corporeal forms, and Adelaide helps ensure those bodies run smoothly.

While technically on the team during defense, Adelaide has never hit the ball. When it's her turn to bat, Adelaide will often rush off the field. One can hear the muffled sounds of what is clearly a very loud transformation sequence going on in the locker room, smoke and strobing lights rolling out from under the door, while the Mechs in the dugout whistle and look away like nothing's going on. Finally, Captain Judochop emerges and takes her place with fanfare.

Captain Judochop fights for justice, home runs, personal empowerment through martial arts, and being comfortable in your own skin! Although Adelaide Judochop and Captain Judochop have never been seen in the same place and look rather alike, they are two definitely different people. The mechanics pretend not to notice the similarities because it's more fun that way and there's a running betting pool on how long they can keep the umps fooled. There is a fringe theory that umpires not used to the common CORE practice of keeping backup bodies might only incinerate Captain Judochop, leaving Adelaide intact, but testing this theory has been labeled a bad idea.

Adelaide prefers quiet places and has social anxiety, but appreciates spending time with her teammates. Depending on her mental state, Adelaide has been known to excuse herself a few seconds before Captain Judochop appears, looking noticeably more relaxed.
