Maintenance Mode

Maintenance Mode is a Team Modification, first seen during the Season 12 Latesiesta. It is the Evolution modification of the Core Mechanics.

Effects

Whenever a Player on a Team with Maintenance Mode is impaired, the Team will gain the Fourth Out for the remainder of the game. An impairment is whenever a Player loses stars.

This modification is not solely limited to games, as if a Player loses stars during an Election, the Team will gain the Fourth Out until the end of the next game they play.

Activations

Maintenance Mode was first seen on the Core Mechanics when they entered the League during the Season 12 Latesiesta.

Since the Mechanics joined the League, Maintenance Mode has activated nine times.

Season 16 Election

During the Season β16 elections, the Mechanics voted to Transfuse Mira Lemma's batting.

  • Mira Lemma's Batting is Infused.
    • Batting 3.0 4.0
  • Mira Lemma's Baserunning is Outfused.
    • Baserunning 3.2 2.9
  • Impairment Detected. Entering Maintenance Mode.
    • +  Fourth Out

The Mechanics would have the Fourth Out for Season 17, Day 1, where they defeated the Dallas Steaks 6.7 - 6[1].

Season 17 Election

During the Season β17 elections, the Mechanics voted to Transfuse Gia Holbrook's batting.

  • Gia Holbrook's Batting is Infused.
    • Batting 3.8 5.1
  • Gia Holbrook's Baserunning is Outfused.
    • Baserunning 2.7 2.4
  • Impairment Detected. Entering Maintenance Mode.
    • +  Fourth Out

The Mechanics would have the Fourth Out for Season 18, Day 1, where they defeated the New York Millennials 5 - 4[2].

Season 18, Day 27

In a game against the San Francisco Lovers, Sandford Garner siphoned some of Mira Lemma's pitching, resulting in a star loss of 3.4 2.8 , and activating Maintenance Mode[3].

The Mechanics were losing 0 - 10 when Maintenance Mode activated, earning a loss with a final score of 2 - 10.

Season 18, Day 95

In a game against the Dallas Steaks, Baldwin Breadwinner's Parasite drained some of Mira Lemma's Suppression, activating Maintenance Mode[4].

The game was tied 0 - 0 when Maintenance Mode activated, with the Mechanics eventually defeating the Steaks with a final score of 9 - 5.7.

Season 18, Day 104

In a game against the Hawai'i Fridays, Spears Taylor siphoned some of Gia Holbrook's pitching, resulting in a star loss of 4.4 3.8 , and activating Maintenance Mode[5].

The Mechanics were winning 3 - 1 when Maintenance Mode activated, pressing their lead and defeating the Fridays with a final score of 10 - 2.

Season 20, Day 44

In a game against the Hawai'i Fridays, Stevenson Heat's Parasite drained some of Mira Lemma's Unthwackability, activating Maintenance Mode[6].

The game was tied 1 - 1 when Maintenance Mode activated, with the Mechanics eventually defeating the Fridays with a final score of 10 - 2.

Season 20, Day 107

In a game against the Kansas City Breath Mints, Winnie Hess siphoned some of Gia Holbrook's defense, resulting in a star loss of 3.3 2.8 , and activating Maintenance Mode[7].

The game was tied at 0 - 0 when Maintenance Mode activated, and the game was in the 9th inning, where the Fourth Out resulted in the Mechanics earning an extra run due to a sacrifice hit by Adelaide Judochop to make the score 2 - 0. The Breath Mints would score a single run in the bottom of the 9th, with the Mechanics defeating them with a final score of 2 - 1.

Season 21, Day 21

In a game against the Hawai'i Fridays, Spears Taylor siphoned some of Christian Combs' defense, resulting in a star loss of 4.9 4.5 , and activating Maintenance Mode[8].

The game was tied 0 - 0 when Maintenance Mode activated, with the Mechanics eventually earning a loss with a final score of (-3) to 3.

Season 23, Day 27

In a game against the Baltimore Crabs, Silvaire Roadhouse siphoned some of Kelvin Drumsolo's pitching, resulting in a star loss of 2.5 2.0 , and activating Maintenance Mode[9].

The Mechanics were losing 0 - 1 when Maintenance Mode activated, earning a loss with a final score of (-0.8) to 4.

Fourth Out


Fourth Out is a Team Modification, given to Teams as a result of Maintenance Mode activating.

Effects

Teams with the Fourth Out will have four outs per inning rather than the usual three.

History

This modification has only ever been seen as a result of Maintenance Mode, being given to the Core Mechanics nine total times.

Trivia

  • PsychoAcoustics has Echoed Maintenance Mode on five occasions, though other teams have never been able to activate the modification.
