Scythe was first seen as a lineup player for the Breckenridge Jazz Hands after the Microphone Localized and Tuned into Gamma 2.

During the Gamma 3, Season 1 Elections, Scythe's Batting was boosted by 0.97 1.18 as a result of the Jazz Hands' Muscle Warmers Amplification.

During the Gamma 3, Season 1 Elections, Scythe gained the Static modification as a result of the Jazz Hands' Charge will, and was removed from the Jazz Hands' roster.

Appearance

Scythe resembles a typical garden scythe with a long wooden shaft with a large curved blade. However, this is just Scythe’s mundane appearance. When bonded with a wielder, Scythe reveals a form that it states reflects the soul of the wielder. Common traits include matching color accents to the wielder, a larger blade and intricate handles. Scythe states that the more complex the design, the stronger the reaper as "glamour is the true endgame."

Background

Scythe is said to be an “all powerful magical artifact” passed between generations of shepherds of the dead, although Scythe is the only being who has ever been observed saying this. Scythe claims to be one of the most powerful reaper’s scythes in existence, used by famous grim reapers across the millennia. However, Scythe was last seen being used as a training tool for new reapers at Breckenridge Community College. Scythe refused to comment on how it ended up there, but the staff informed the press that Scythe was dropped off at the college as a result of its gaming habits.

On its own, Scythe is capable of levitation, speech and teleporting exactly fifteen feet. Scythe’s true powers are released when it bonds with a wielder, who it refers to as “avatars," and allows to tap into its deep well of magical power. Wielders can levitate, communicate with others telepathically, teleport, and "unleash powers vast and incomprehensible," according to Scythe.

However, Scythe is a fickle sickle, and often discards avatars it finds unworthy. Past avatars have been discarded for refusing to reap a ripe soul, failing to properly sharpen Scythe’s blade, and taking too long in the shower. Scythe's fickleness cuts both ways though, and it often re-bonds itself with past wielders if it finds its current wielder unworthy.

Scythe is an avid PC gamer, and recently becoming interested in Flinal Flantasy Flourteen. However, the game’s strict rules on using modifications or magic while playing prohibit Scythe from playing without being banned. This requires Scythe’s avatar to play in its stead, controlling Scythe's character for them at its behest. In the game, Scythe is a known melee DPS player. Scythe frequently touts their parses with pride to any who will listen, saying its parses are the same beautiful shade as its blade. Gray.
