Help:Forbidden Knowledge

From Blaseball Wiki

Unrevised Style Guide Section
This section of the Style Guide has not been revised from early drafts. As a result, this information is disorganized (as you can see) and possibly not representative of current wiki policies. While you may find useful guidance here, it should not be taken as gospel nor used to settle disputes without wiki mod confirmation.

Forbidden Knowledge is a subset of information about Blaseball that we would consider canonical, but is considered significantly spoiler heavy in any context. Forbidden Knowledge typically consists of information hidden on the back-end of the game. Said another way, it is the underlying structure and algorithmic makeup of the game and simulation that is hidden from public view, as opposed to information and mechanics visible on blaseball.com. Forbidden Knowledge also commonly includes spoiler-heavy story updates to the game, information about new mechanics, or other such information not intended for public view.

Forbidden Knowledge is commonly researched by the Society for Internet Blaseball Research, or SIBR. At this time, the best place to learn about and contribute to Forbidden Knowledge research is to join the SIBR Discord server (link) and explore their various projects.

There have been previous efforts to catalog Forbidden Knowledge on this Wiki, but those efforts didn’t meaningfully materialize. As such, at this time, there is limited information about Forbidden Knowledge on this Wiki that may also be out of date and should be marked with a Forbidden Knowledge banner.

Generally speaking, contributors are not to add more Forbidden Knowledge. The Wiki Team may work with SIBR in the future to feature a more robust and active documentation of Forbidden Knowledge, and will announce those efforts at that time. If you are interested in contributing to such an effort, the SIBR Discord has a channel (#fk-wiki) where you can get involved.
