Halomonas Pillae is the subspecies name for a sub-type of rust eating bacteria that exists down in the Core.

Behavior

Thriving off of the deeper sanctums of the Pillars, it prefers the unique combination of metal rust near the stadium, often leaving shiny, untouched metal where it has been. It was thought that this bacteria could possibly erode structural integrity but due to multiple ballgame related incidents, the bacteria actually re-enforce the integrity of the material around it.

Traits

The visual qualities of the bacteria are strange, being visible only when exposed to rigid temperature changes or sudden impact. Their hue when visible is a hiughly specular teal, leaving marks where incidents occurred for hours, even days at a time. The bacteria itself is technically safe for consumption but will often cause gastrointestinal distress in large armounts due to the anomalous properties of the bugs, the hydrochloric content; theorized to be replacing weaker versions of the material with stonger ones. Further testing is needed.
