Appearance & Personality

Jesaulenko is an anglerfish siren. They most resemble a human with pink skin and needle-like teeth. She has short, black hair and a bioluminescent lure coming out from the top of her head. Their hands and feet are webbed, and they have fins on their forearms that help them swim. Jesaulenko has light-sensitive eyes and she often wears sunglasses when outside or in areas with bright lights. Jesaulenko’s sensitivity to light has made it difficult for them to play Blaseball on land, especially in Sun 2 weather. Before games, she is usually seen cursing at the Sun, and has made her hatred for it very clear.

Jesaulenko is often described as bold and assertive. She is passionate about the things she loves, and she is not afraid to speak her mind. Their honesty can be a bit much sometimes, making them seem stuck up and caustic. Jesaulenko is very stubborn and has a hard time admitting when she’s wrong. They're a snob when it comes to music, taking pride in their knowledge of music history, and are prone to gatekeeping. Jesaulenko is known for being extremely hardworking, giving her all on stage and on the field.

History

Jesaulenko grew up in the deeper parts of the ocean just outside the city of Atlantis. Living in areas where it was often too dark to see, they would spend most of their time singing and listening to music, leading to a dream of one day performing on stage. Jesaulenko eventually moved to the city to study music, though found the transition difficult due to her light sensitivity. They began to visit batting cages in Atlantis, hoping it would help relieve her stress, and was soon approached by a scout for the Atlantis Georgias. Jesaulenko was hesitant to join at first, worried that Blaseball might interfere with their dreams. She agreed once she realized playing Blaseball could help fund her music career. Sometime after joining the Georgias, she formed a punk band called the Midnight Zone. Since they are a siren, Jesaulenko does have the power to lure others with their singing. This has led to many criticisms from the press, claiming that the use of her abilities is an “gross abuse of power at the expense of the Atlantean citizens”. Jesaulenko has stated on many occasions that they do not use this power when performing, preferring that people support the band for the music they produce.
