No-one knows how or when Ducks first started appearing in the Core, but they have quickly become one of the most popular pets and companions among Denizens.

Appearance

Although known for their bright yellow plumage and their high pitched squeaking quacks. Ducks have been found to display all kinds of variations in both colouration and mannerism, often reflecting their owners in some way. This varies from simple colouration changes, I.E. A Decoration Mechanics duck might acquire plumage that resembles a colour swatch, to spontaneous morphic changes that assist in their owners work, I.E. The bill shape changing to resemble a wrench just as the owner is looking for one.

Behavior

The one constant that seems to accompany these changes is that the owners have often remarked that they were speaking aloud about their problems when the changes occurred. Slight oddities aside, ducks have rapidly risen to occupy a highly valued position in the hearts of both first time, and long term pet owners.
