Community History:The Return

From Blaseball Wiki

Blaseball officially launched on July 20, 2020 with the beginning of Season 1. It was described as "the return of Internet League Blaseball", indicating that Blaseball had existed in the game's universe previously.

During the week prior to Season 1, there was a closed alpha test commonly referred to as "Season 0". Although it featured the same teams as later seasons, they had different players, and this season is not considered canon.

Compared to later seasons, relatively little is known about the actual events of Season 1. SIBR began archiving the game during Season 2, although even those archives are incomplete prior to Season 3. Since there were no weather events during Season 1, we know that there were no roster changes during the season itself, and there are partial records of the rosters as they existed at the time.[1]

Season 1 election

According to the developers[2], there was a bug during the Season 1 election causing multiple copies of the sim to run concurrently, each generating different results. Some results were overridden by later ones and some weren't, causing the final outcome to be a combination of all three. This was originally discovered by the community due to discrepancies such as Nagomi Mcdaniel moving to the Fridays and Winnie Hess's star rating improving which were not explained by the official election outcome shown on the site.
