Box of Cicero Gubbins Files

Dust billows as the file box lands on the table. While many archives in the Interdimensional Rumor Mill are unified in some way, this... definitely isn’t one of them. The accompanying Rumor Registry explains all of the contents... wherever it is... but for now you grab the folder labelled IF-828 and start reading...

Cicero Gubbins is one, two, or possibly many house-spirits, or imps, that live in the Legscraper.

History

Cicero Gubbins(es) manifested sometime after the Lift's first playoffs appearance in season 13. Gubbins mainly folded clothes and maintained the Legscraper's field of play, although the latter activity involved much less cleaning and much more dodging Gronk Sewergas, the tower's head janitor. When Stijn Strongbody was incinerated, Gubbins(es) decided to start practicing in case the new player draft ever came for them. Unfortunately, this did not improve their ability, and instead instilled a love of machines in the imp(s) after many hours fixing a pitching machine discarded into the bowels of the Legscraper. When Cicero finally saw play, they decided that the time for practice was over. Instead, they started creating devices of their own out of spare circuit boards, pipes, and other detritus. These devices do not work in anyone's hands but their own, and occasionally Engine Eberhardt's.

Appearance

Gubbins(es) are small, humanoid, fairly round, and might have horns. Their eyes glow in a variety of colors, and are the only part of their face that is visible from under a hood.

There might be one "Cicero Gubbins" two imps known as "Cicero" and "Gubbins", respectively, or an unknown quantity of "Cicero Gubbinses", each identical except for eye color, which they can change at will. No more than one Cicero Gubbins has appeared to one person at one time, although there are unconfirmed claims of two appearing to Val Hitherto, standing on top of each other to be collectively taller than him.

Personality

Gubbins(es) are playful, with a penchant for mischief and a deep creative drive. They are friends with fellow mechanic Engine Eberhardt, as well as fellow short monarch Kline Greenlemon. They have been seen fixing Ankle Halifax's radio, although the relationship between the two is professional.
