In Season β13 the Charleston Shoe Thieves finished last in Mild Low, 18th in the ILB. They did not qualify for the postseason for the first time since Season 8.

After the Elections, Tillman Henderson's Returned modification activated, sending them back to the Hall of Flame and pulling Simba Davis from the Shoe Thieves' shadows to replace them. Simultaneously, Tad Seeth mysteriously disappeared from the shadows. Both Tad Seeth and Brisket Friendo of the Kansas City Breath Mints were given the new modification Redacted. This marked the beginning of The Investigation.
