I have no physical changes so far though. Well not as far as I can tell anyway - it can be hard to tell if your blood or bones are doing something unexpected until you go in for a check up. Not for me it just helps me get up in the morning. Seriously! Every morning I always have his tremendous urge to go see the ocean, so I have to get up and go for a walk just to be close to it for a little while. Even on days where I can't bring myself to get out of bed, I have this nagging urge to just get up and go see the ocean. I know it's not as exciting as pincers or whatever, but it's always been important to me, these days I usually pray by the ocean every time I'm there.
You pray to the Crab Mother?
Oh no, she's not my God. I've never prayed to her specifically, but when I do pray I do it by the ocean, and I thank my God for having the Crab Mother help me with this. It's been nice to be able to see the sunrise so much these days, I had missed it.

What? Hellooo, have you seen me? I’m carcinized as anybody else! It’s not about Debbie, or whatever, not for me. Carcinization is all about changing, right? I am too! It’s the connection to the other Crabs that matters. If I didn’t have that, I wouldn’t even bother! You don’t have to be traditionally carcinized to be carcinized, you know?
And the connection to Baltimore?
I’ve got that too! I mean, I played here for how many seasons? Don’t answer that. Baltimore’s home, still. A lot of places have been home for me, but I still have people here, right, Finn and Kennedy and all the other Crabs. Home’s where the heart is, or however the ████ that cheesy saying goes. The heart’s in Baltimore, so Baltimore’s home! So I’m still a Crab. Carcinized and all. I don’t think you ever really stop being one unless you wanna stop!

The molting is terrible. Seriously once every couple of months I get sore and irritable, then I notice the chitin start peeling back and I know I'm in for a bad couple of nights. I've gone down to the Bay witches a couple times though, and they've been a big help. I asked one or two about how I can offset it and they offered to help me reverse it but I really can't bring myself to do it. It feels like a gift, so it would be rude to return it. I'll just keep maintaining it until it falls off for good I guess.

I woke up with way more legs than I started with and it was a real pain at first, but it is helpful for getting around, even if it means I had to buy a bigger bed so I could get more comfortable. My neighbors were really good about it though, they helped me get it up the stairs. The guy over in 205 is huge and he could practically pick it up by himself! Apparently he had a similar problem when he first carcinized so he had all the good tips about how to take care of your shell, and what parts of it are tough enough that you can just let it lie on the ground compared to the more sensitive bits of the tail.

It was weird coming here. I just moved to Baltimore for school, I knew about the whole crab thing but it never really sunk in what that meant until I was out buying groceries and the person behind the cash had eye stalks. It was like when I was a kid and I saw someone with a full skull tattoo, or when I saw someone in the skatepark in an evening gown - there were these rules about what I should be like that I didn’t even know were there, and suddenly I realized that they had always been there, and that I was allowed to break them. So yeah it’s been cool to play around with that, and the bay witches are always good to talk about the process, or help me deal with it. The molting does suck though, but like so does bleaching my hair so it’s whatever.
