Background

Bobbin Moss was an untrained botanist out in the Everglades, spending years taking care of the swamp life. Most botanists aren't concerned with the care of Cattails and Algae, but Bobbin was heavily invested in their care. Bobbin was so invested in the care of the local flora that she changed her last name to "Moss." This was aided by the fact that her isolated time out in the swamps led her to ruining her legal records in swamp water and forgetting her given last name. Also her given first name. She actually chose "Bobbin" because "That's what I do out in the water!" She gets very upset if you pronounce her name "Bobbing," as she thinks you're making fun of her accent.

Her love of moss went beyond caring for it and naming herself after it. She also learned how to synergise with the moss in the everglades, incorporating it into and onto her physical form. Thanks to her ability to share and exchange nutrients with the moss attached to her, she can go for extended periods of time without eating. The longest she's gone without a meal was 67 hours, before her visiting cousin mentioned something about it. According to that cousin, Bobbin replied with "Oh, yah, I guess I could go for a nibble," before eating approximately 6,000 calories in one sitting.

Joining the ILB

Bobbin had received grant money from the ILB for her research years prior, but didn't remember the details of said contract. However, after the incineration of Logan Horseman, the ILB contacted Bobbin to fulfill her end of the contract. Upon traveling to Miami as per the ILB's request, she realised what her part of the contract was: she was now required to play Blaseball as a player for the Miami Dale.

Relationships

While the isolated Everglade local lacks a lot of social couth, she is incredibly knowledgeable about the environment and its inhabitants. She gets along excellently with Stout Schmitt, as they both feel incredibly at ease in various swamp environments and share a strong camaraderie as a result.

She also gets along excellently with Liam Snail, as the two of them are very good at talking for long lengths about their interests and remembering specific pieces of information one tells the other. Bobbin is still trying to convince Liam to allow her to put some moss on their shell, but Liam is hesitant.

Francisca is also good friends with Bobbin, as Bobbin's long hair gets similarly frazzled due to the natural Florida humidity, and Bobbin helps Francisca care for her hair with a number of products and tricks.

Qais and Bobbin also tend to get along very frequently, as Bobbin is also very good at helping Qais keep moisture out of the their mech. Qais, in turn, was quick to help Bobbin adjust to playing Blaseball. They described Bobbin's batting stance as "Frankly horrific, but much better than when she was trying to bat with one hand."

Bobbin tends to avoid Howell Rocha, stating "I know that she's her own person, but she looks too much like me, and she's always trying to talk to me about my 'problems' and she seems like a nice gal but I don't want there to be more than one me." When asked about this, Howell had this to say: "I don't talk about people's emotions with the press. Bobbin will come to understand me and herself on her own time."
