Atlantis Georgias/Season 15

From Blaseball Wiki

In Season β15, the Atlantis Georgias finished 12th in the Wild League and 23rd in the ILB.

Season 15 was a largely uneventful Season for the Atlantis Georgias, which I presume was also true for the rest of the League. I'm not sure. I wasn't watching. Coming off of a election with little in the way of the team's improvement, the Georgias remained one of the worst teams in the league, only finishing ahead of the Seattle Garages, who were dealing with other things at the time.

In the Election, the Georgias used the Foreshadow Will to swap Ankle Halifax for Knight Triumphant on the Rotation, the Move Will to move Flattery McKinley to the Lineup, and the Equivalent Exchange Will to once again trade with the San Francisco Lovers, this time trading Mint Shupe for Ortiz Lopez. The Georgias additionally benefited from the Easy Out Blessing, moving Mordecai Kingbird to the back of their lineup.

Season Overview

The following summary mixes canon events with community lore.

Same As It Ever Was

Much like their previous two Seasons, the Atlantis Georgias remained one of the worst teams in Internet League Blaseball. For the most part, however, Season 15 was largely uneventful for the Georgias, save for Siobhan Chark getting her Defense drained by Blooddrain, something that would come to happen quite often, and a Reverb shuffling the Georgias' Rotation, meaning Rigby Friedrich would no longer pitch on Rigby Day.

Flattery McKinley remained on strike from the previous Season, though many noticed a marked improvement in their performance. This wasn't to say they were good, this is still Flattery McKinley after all, but in general Georgias fans took note that they were walking batters far less often compared to the previous Season. Some theorize that McKinley took their strike less seriously, as the Move Will gave them a clear path to the lineup, though others assume that it was simply the universe forcing them to play better after they partied twice in the previous Season.

During Latesiesta, the Georgias would once again employ the help of Angelika Aufdiscord, this time funding two renovations: an LCD Soundsystem and a Secret Base, though these ultimately ended up having little impact on the Season.

Shortly after Latesiesta, the Atlantis Georgias would play in the Breckenridge Community Field against the Breckenridge Jazz Hands. Here, the Georgias would get to try out the Jazz Hands' Grind Rail. Jan Canberra would do a combination of a Slide Whistle and a Bloodflip, scoring what was at the time an impressive 2287 total points, the highest score recorded at the time. Slosh Truk would be witnessed riding the skateboard xe had been batting with (not to be confused with a Skate Board) for the first time, performing a Triple Grind and Wiggleflip that scored a combined 1715 points. Niq Nyong'o would take the Grind Rail twice, first performing a combined 50-50 and Flipflip that scored a measly 793 total points, followed by a Nosetoucher and Kickflip that scored only 512. Nyong'o was so ashamed of this performance that she swore off using the Grind Rail for the next two Seasons.

The Atlantis Georgias would enter Party Time on Day 81, Partying a total of nine times.

CONSUMERS ATTACK

Unfortunately, despite being one of the worst teams in the League, the Georgias would not be immune to the Consumers that had been attacking the rest of the League. An effort to push Chorby Soul as high as possible on the Idol Board to lessen the number of MVPs slowly sank the rest of the team below the Immateria, leaving nearly everyone at risk of Consumer attacks, regardless of performance. This would ultimately come to bite the Atlantis Georgias, as Mordecai Kingbird and Jan Canberra both got attacked by Consumers.

The Georgias were largely upset by this move, as Mordecai Kingbird was specifically moved out of the shadows due to his batting talent, and Jan Canberra was a target of an Infusion in an earlier election. These attacks undid much of the little progress the Georgias had made over their previous elections, heavily upsetting the Atlantis Georgias fanbase.

Election

At the start of the Election, the Atlantis Georgias would all be given bats by League Historian Lōotcrates, with Geraldine Frost notably getting a Weird Bat, though what made it so Weird was largely unknown. Flattery McKinley was enthusiastic to receive a bat, thinking of it as an important step in their move to the Lineup, which fortunately would occur in the same Election. Through the use of a new Will, McKinley was moved to the cleanup spot in the Georgias' Lineup, after Siobhan Chark and before Slosh Truk.

In additional moves made to improve the Georgias' rotation, Knight Triumphant was called up from the Shadows to take the place of Ankle Halifax, a poor kid that really needed a break. While Triumphant was still Elsewhere due to a flood in Season β14, fans eagerly awaited their triumphant return, as their pitching stars suggested they could quickly become a league-renowned star pitcher.

While their first two wills went according to plan, Angelika Aufdiscord once again came to spend the Georgias' Free Will, stealing another player from the San Francisco Lovers by exchanging Mint Shupe for Ortiz Lopez. While this trade came as a surprise initially as both players were fan-favorites on their original teams, they would quickly become beloved on their new teams as well, cementing a friendship between the Georgias and Lovers. The Lovers still wanted Knight Triumphant back, though.

For the first time, the Georgias actually managed to win a Blessing, winning the Easy Out Blessing, which moved the worst batter on their lineup to the end. This moved Mordecai Kingbird back exactly one space, now batting behind Erin Jesaulenko.

Despite a rough Season, Georgias were largely happy with the improvements seen in this Election, gaining a batting star in Flattery McKinley while sharply improving their pitching rotation at the same time. While it was uncertain if the Georgias would be one of the best teams in the League, fans were optimistic that in the next Season, the Georgias would be able to start making waves.
