Background

During the Second Wyatt Masoning, Wyatt Mason XII was pulled through the Rift and localized onto the Shoe Thieves' rotation. While there is no clear explanation for Mason XII's appearance, some speculate that it may be related to alchemical experiments by Fitzgerald Wanderlust. Mason XII themself refused to reveal if they knew the source of their existence, responding to questions on the topic with "What are you, a cop?"

To distinguish them from the other Wyatt Masons, Mason XII went by the nickname "Midnight Mason." They were also occasionally referred to as "Wy Noon." Their appearance shortly before noon during the Latesiesta and Static at exactly midnight on Day 84 is likely a coincidence.

Career with the Shoe Thieves

Mason XII's performance was notably one of the worst of the Wyatt Masons. On Season 14, Day 78, Mason XII pitched their only full game, giving up 15 runs and losing the Shoe Thieves the game. The team seemed to not have minded their poor pitching. This may have been due to the fact that Simba Davis, who had the worst full season as a pitcher to date, was also in active play at the time.

Mason XII initially had a tense relationship with the team due to the Shoe Thieves' involvement in the Grand Unslam, which led to the initial Wyatt Masoning. While Mason XII had no ill will toward their team, their teammates, particularly those that had been on the team at the time of the Unslam, felt awkward having a Wyatt Mason around. Relations appeared to have improved before their Static, though not much is known about their involvement with specific team members.

In an attempt to fit in with the team, Mason XII pulled off many shoe heists in the short amount of time they were on the team; however, they were frequently discovered to have stolen easy to access and cheap shoes, such as $1 sandals from Wlalmart. It is unknown whether this was because they were easy to steal or if Mason XII had an unfortunate taste in shoes. Their most notable heist was recovering Wyatt Mason's 1985 Air Jordans, which had been stolen around the time of the Grand Unslam. Upon asking for them soon after joining the Shoe Thieves, teammate Cornelius Games reportedly told them "If you want them back, you'll have to steal them." Mason XII was seen in possession of the Air Jordans shortly thereafter.
