Watson Ward has always dreamed of becoming a superhero. Unfortunately, after graduating from college with a degree in super-humanities, Ward was shocked to discover that even entry-level vigilante positions require at least 6-10 years of professional experience. Thus, Ward spent much of his early career as an apprentice (e.g. unpaid intern.) to a variety of costumed heroes. Over time Ward developed a strong resume of sidekick skills, including but not limited to:

  • Spouting family-friendly puns during combat.
  • Doing a cool backflip.
  • Asking exactly the right question during a difficult investigation.
  • Looking really impressed when the hero announces the solution to a difficult investigation.

However despite his best efforts and the glowing recommendation letters of multiple genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropists, Ward was unable to defeat his true arch-nemesis; The Gig Economy.

After months of unemployment, Ward stumbled upon a Craigslist ad for Internet League Blaseball, to which he eagerly responded, having wildly misunderstood the term "Batboy".
