Season 13 began on March 08, 2021. The regular season concluded on March 12, 2021 , followed by the postseason and Internet Series on March 13, 2021. The Season 13 election took place on March 14, 2021. The Baltimore Crabs defeated the LA Unlimited Tacos 3 wins to 0 to win their fourth Internet Series championship.

The Hawai'i Fridays, corresponding to II The High Priestess, are "GOING UNDER," and gained the Sinking Ship modification. The San Francisco Lovers, corresponding to XX Judgment, are "GETTING OVER," and gained the Base Dealing seasonal modificaion. The Lovers' lineup was also "optimized," with their lineup taking on a new order.

Following the reading, Fans of all teams besides the Baltimore Crabs began contributing towards the construction of their Ballparks, with many teams completing funding in mere minutes. The Crabs were offered options for Renovations to improve their ballpark.

Latesiesta

In the Season 13 Earlsiesta, the rest of the teams across the League began construction on their Ballparks. Many of them finished funding the stadium within minutes, with latecomers soon ensuring all teams were fully funded. Construction was completed for all Ballparks the following Season 13 Latesiesta, with the Baltimore Crabs completing construction of the first Renovations, Inconvenience - and Peanut Mister.

Notable Events

Ongoing Flooding

Despite assurances from Boss in the Preseason, Flooding continued to plague the League. Players were being swept off their bases regularly, and on occasion, swept  . Even more concerning was that when players returned from Elsewhere after 20 or more days, they returned Scattered, frequently missing letters in their names and having no Vibes. The first player to return like this was Beasley Day, who returned under the name "-easley Day." A few games later, Day's full name was restored, however, more and more players began returning with more and more letters missing from their names, such as when Pitching Machine returned as "Pi-ching -ac--ne". It is unknown at this time why this is happening or what it means if a player loses all the letters in their name.

MVP Voting

At the start of the season, the Idol board was updated with a new feature called MVP Voting. It reads "MVPs are selected each Endseason. Players above the line will be named season MVPs and will receive an Ego Boost." The aforementioned line is wavy with a golden color, similar to the text Boss speaks in.

Following the Day 99 games, Boss introduced the MVPs for this season, all of whom received the Modification Ego+, the effect of which seems to make it so that players with Ego+ do not get as easily swept away during Flooding weather. The MVPs were:

Sutton Picklestein's Necromancy

During the course of this season's elections, Sutton Picklestein, incinerated earlier in the season was Plundered by the Boston Flowers, then plundered a second time by the Kansas City Breath Mints. However, after the Wills were all filed, the modification Returned activated. Returned reads "This player has Returned from the void. At the end of each season, this player has a chance of being called back to the Void." In a never before seen incident, Picklestein was Returned immediately after being brought back from the dead, pulling Marquez Clark from the Breath Mints shadows in his place. Furthermore, Tillman Henderson was also Returned at the same time. Both players were placed at the bottom of the board in the Hall of Flame.

The Disappearance of Friendo and Seeth

As is tradition, the ten teams playing in the Postseason are granted a Postseason Birth, a new player to live in each team's Shadows. The Kansas City Breath Mints were given Brisket Friendo in Season 13 and the Charleston Shoe Thieves were given Tad Seeth in Season β12.

During the elections, both Friendo and Seeth were given the modification Redacted, which says simply "This player is Redacted." Neither player can be selected as an Idol. Very briefly, Boss appeared to ask Where'd you go, Friendo? A followup from The Commissioner indicated that a missing persons report had been filed, and that "Ownership has enlisted the help of two top-tier investigators and assures no expenses spared."

Notable Election Results

During this season's election, multiple teams and players received modifications due to blessings and wills. As a result of Sun Dialed, the LA Unlimited Tacos received  Sun DialedWhen this Team activates Sun 2, a random Player on their Team will be boosted by 1%.. The Baltimore Crabs would receive  UnholeyWhen this Team activates the Black Hole, a random Player on their opponent's Team will be impaired by 1%. as a result of Unholey. The only recipient of the Trust Will this season, Pitching Machine, was granted  UncertainWhen this Player returns from Elsewhere, they'll be adjusted by -15% to +20%.. Nagomi Mcdaniel of the Boston Flowers became a  Super IdolThis player will earn Fans double the rewards from all Idol Snacks.

Ongoing Decrees

• Eat The Rich (Season β3): Funds from the top 1% of coin-havers will be redistributed to the remainder of Fans at the end of the postseason. This decree will remain in effect indefinitely.
• Enhanced Party Time (Season β6): When a team is in Party Time -- mathematically eliminated from the postseason -- they'll have a chance of receiving random permanent stat boosts during their games.
• Wild Cards (Season β8): Every Season, a random team from each Subleague will leave Party Time to become the 5th Playoff team. A best of 3 Wild Card series will happen on Fridays.
• Based Evolution (Season β12): Every Third Championship a Team wins will cause the Team and its Players to Evolve. Players that round the phylogenic Bases will get to go Home.

Postseason

Four teams from each league advance to the post season: the winners of each division, and the next two best teams by total wins. As of Season β5, teams alternate home games with the higher seed hosting first. As of Season β9, a fifth team is chosen at random as a Wild Card. The Wild Card games are a first-to-two series while every other round is a first-to-three series.

Each blessing will be awarded to a randomly selected player or team based. Votes from a team's fans increase the likelihood of that team receiving a blessing.
