Season Overview

Good Dirt, Great Season

Heading into Season 23, the Worms were coming off of several average seasons, with very little success in terms of performance. This season, the Worms decided to shake off the dust, bury themselves in the dirt, and win. The Worms quickly became a dominant team, despite setbacks such as the incineration of Pudge Nakamoto. At the end of the season, the team placed 2nd in the Wild League and 3rd overall in the ILB, putting them in a solidly good position for the postseason.

The Worms continued their dominance in the playoffs, winning hard-fought battles against the Tokyo Lift and Hellmouth Sunbeams to become the Wild League Champions. The Worms then played a grueling five-game series against the Canada Moist Talkers and lost by one run, making them the well-earned runners-up to a championship.

More Like The Semi-Insect-ennial, Right?

When the ILB Semi-Centennial began, all players with levels of Ego less than Legendary were recruited off of their various teams and onto the Rising Stars. For the Worms, this meant Vessalius Sundae joined the Stars’ Lineup. The Stars also recruited every player on the Idol Board at the end of the postseason regardless of their Ego status, meaning that Scratch Deleuze was also recruited to the Stars’ Shadows.

During the Semi-Centennial, Sundae siphoned some of Parker MacMillan’s baserunning ability. MacMillan had become a noteworthy tragic figure among Blaseball fans. This did not deter Sundae in the slightest.

At the end of the game, players returned to their home teams. Deleuze returned as a lineup player; due to an error, Sundae returned as a rotation player. Additionally, players in the Semi-Centennial who had originally been in the Hall of Flame fell to random teams. At the conclusion of the game, Rosales Darkness fell to the Worms’ lineup.

Election Crawl-ot

In the Election, the Worms overwhelmingly voted to become Roamless, protecting them from the risk of Parker MacMillan roaming to their team. The team also received the Under Review modification from the Reader.

The Worms won two blessings. Season 9: Credit to the Team Blessed the team’s worst player, Scoobert Toast, with  Credit to the Team. The team also won Season 20: Heavy-Handed, which they had also won in Season 20, reaffirming their heavy-handedness. The Worms were furthermore affected by two blessings won by other teams: the SunbeamsSeason 10: Divisional Walk in the Park gave them  Walk in the Park for the next season, and the TacosSeason 22: Gachapon stole prospective player Crow Madrigal from their Shadows.
