Winkler's family owns and operates a splorts bar in the Slouth Side of Boston. From a young age, he helped out there, waiting tables and pulling drinks for the patrons. During this time, he picked up his family's deep love of splorts, especially [[Flootball]]. His family were some of the most vocal and belligerent splorts fans around, often starting fights at games and antagonizing the opposing teams. While Winkler shared their passion, he was disappointed at their violent ways of showing their love for the splort.
