History
Early Life and Career
Mcdaniel was born and raised in Hawai'i by a Scottish mother and a Japanese father. In high school she had a romance with a classmate, the girl who would become the mother of Fridays player York Silk. Rekindling this romance after they had both graduated led to Mcdaniel recruiting Silk to the Fridays.

Despite recruiting Silk to the Fridays, during Season 1 Mcdaniel played for the Tigers, which some Blaseball fans have suggested had something to do with paying off an old debt. They transferred to their home state team under mysterious circumstances after Season 1.

An avid sword practitioner and collector, Mcdaniel has been known to forego her bat in place of a shinai or mighty claymore.

When Mcdaniel ate a stray peanut in Season 3, the protein burst focused their mind and abilities. Since then they have been regarded as one of the best hitters in the league, and have only improved with time.

Baltimore Crabs Transfer
Mcdaniel was initially due to be traded to the Jazz Hands after the Season 3 election. While on the way to Breckenridge, however, her transport was intercepted by servants of the Olde One, and she found herself playing for the Crabs.

No one has ever suggested that Baltimore runs on island time, and suffice it to say, Mcdaniel found themself confused by the strange appearances and origins of their new teammates. In their search for resolution to the storm within them, Mcdaniel took it upon themself to visit the Olde One. They quickly acquired a mech suit (The Cybernetic Limb Augmentation Wearall) to make the perilous journey to the depths of Old Bay.

Mcdaniel quickly arrived at the Olde One's side, and confessed her doubts about her strange new home and bewildering teammates. The Mother Crab offered a simple solution: with a single snip of its tender claws, the Mother Crab could carcinize her, to help her understand her new team. Upon leaving Baltimore, the process could be reversed, if desired. Nagomi pondered this offer for a few moments, then accepted.

Rumors abounded after Mcdaniel's carcinization. The Baltimore Slun reported that Mcdaniel was now a headless hitter, known in legend as a Coliunn Gun Cheann. The report claimed that Mcdaniel affixed their still-living head atop their neck with a ribbon; however, they have been known to attend practice games without it, and their skills were completely unaffected. Splorts Bleakly thus disputed these reports, suggesting that McDaniel's head was still affixed to their body. Instead, Bleakly claimed, their head had in fact begun to fuse with their torso, which was now encased in a carapace and more closely resembled a crab's thorax. Eye witness accounts both support and refute these reports. The confusion is believed to be part of the Deep One's design.

Further complicating the matter, some rumours suggest Mcdaniel’s new form is the only the beginning of the Mother Crab's carcinization process. The subject of her final form has thus become a common conversation topic within Baltimore, albeit often discreetly. Unsourced and unverified claims suggest she may become a centaur like creature with a giant crab in place of legs; a ten foot tall red cap, with her hands replaced by iron claws, and her blood replaced with Old Bay Seasoning; or perhaps a five-inch high double of Mcdaniel will grow out of her neck and pilot her former body like a machine. These claims, though widely considered fantastic, cannot be disproven at this time.

During their time with the Crabs, Mcdaniel took the field clad in their Wearall and, as they described it, wielding "a claymore and a new-found inhumanity."

Joining the Jazz Hands
Amid the bevy of blessings Mcdaniel received in the Season 5 Elections was Rollback Netcode. This blessing undid some of her carcinization, and forced her to realize how far it had progressed in two short years. The stark differences between her pre- and post-Rollback bodies thoroughly scared Mcdaniel; as she phrased it in one interview, she had to ask, "How much had I given up to the Mother Crab without recognizing the cost? How much was I the person with my heart in Hawai'i, and how much of me had become fully crab?" These questions haunted her, and she ventured further and further from Baltimore in search of enough distance that she could resolve these blurred boundaries. It was at this point that she received an enticing invitation to join the Jazz Hands in Breckenridge, CO, USA. Crabs teammate and former Jazz Hands batter Tot Fox had told her stories of Breckenridge, describing it as a place of beautiful mountains, peace, and a distinct lack of salt water. She thus accepted the invitation, with the added benefit of allowing Stanton to return home after two years away.

Life in Breckenridge was not without its reminders of the Crabs - Jazz Hands batter Valentine Games was also a former Crab - but it was a far cry from the crashing waves and salty air of Baltimore. Hiking the mountain trails gave Mcdaniel plenty of time and space to think, slowly sorting through what parts of themself were from their life in Hawai'i and what parts had been carcinized. Over time, they reconciled these disparate aspects into what they once described to Games as a "newer, truer Mcdaniel." When asked about their feelings towards batting for the Jazz Hands in an interview, they replied, "I feel like it's only fair repayment, given the space and time the Hands have afforded me. I have no doubt I'll be traded away soon enough, but until then I will give the Jazz Hands my all."
+
Season 12
 +
During the Season 12 elections, Mcdaniel was traded to the Seattle Garages in exchange for Greer Gwiffin via the Plunder will, then immediately to the Boston Flowers via the Exchange will in exchange for a just-Shadowed Alaynabella Hollywood.

It was during her time with the Jazz Hands that Mcdaniel was introduced to Japanese jazz fusion. Lowe Forbes shared a selection of their jazz albums with Mcdaniel, and alongside artists like Llouis Slatchmo and Smiles Dlavis, Forbes provided her with the album Mint Jams by Casiopea. Intrigued by the distinctive style, she independently sought out new artists, and discovered Hiromi's Sonicbloom, Himiko Kikuchi, Toshiko Akiyoshi, and Sloul & "Plomp" Slessions, and became a lifelong fan of the Japanese jazz scene. In an interview, she described the experience of discovering Japanese jazz as "a roundabout discovery of culture [she] never had," citing a disconnect between the Japanese cultural festivals of Hawai'i and a more personal experience of Japan.
+
Season 13
 +
Following Season 13, Day 99, Mcdaniel received the Ego+ modification after being named an MVP. During the Season 13 elections, Mcdaniel was pulled back out of the Shadows as a pitcher by the Flowers' Foreshadow will in exchange for Zeboriah Wilson. Mcdaniel also received the Super Idol modification due to the Center of Attention blessing.

Return to the Crabs
+
Season 14
After Nagomi was Shelled by a disgruntled Peanut, it was found in her living will that were she to be incapacitated in any way besides incineration she wished to return to her beloved Baltimore to recuperate. Holden Stanton, having already participated in a Jazz Hands transfer, offered to fill her spot with the Hands in the meantime. The giant peanut shell that encased her was transported back to her home by the Chesapeake, where the Crabs tend to her, hoping one day she might be freed.
+
Following Season 14, Day 99, Mcdaniel received the Ego++ modification after being named an MVP for the second time. During the Season 14 elections, Mcdaniel was traded back to the Baltimore Crabs in exchange for Parker Parra via the Crabs' Exchange will, becoming a lineup player in the process.

 +
Season 15
 +
Following Season 15, Day 99, Mcdaniel received the Ego++ modification after being named an MVP for the third time. On Season 15, Day 104, Mcdaniel was attacked by Consumers, losing their last Soul. Mcdaniel was then Redacted and removed from the Crabs' roster. During the Season 15 elections, the Boston Flowers attempted to Plunder Mcdaniel, but Mcdaniel remained Redacted, and gained the Unstable modification as well.

She'll lead the team to get ahead.

Nagomi Mcdaniel is a pitcher for the Mexico City Wild Wings. Mcdaniel has played for the Hades Tigers, Breckenridge Jazz Hands, Hawai'i Fridays, Seattle Garages, Boston Flowers, Baltimore Crabs, Miami Dale.

Mcdaniel is the player who has experienced the most trades, at nine: from the Hades Tigers to the Hawai'i Fridays due to a rare Mystery Blessing, then to the Breckenridge Jazz Hands and Baltimore Crabs in a single round of Season 3 blessings, next to the Jazz Hands in the Season 5 blessings, back to the Crabs in the Season 6 blessings, back to the Fridays in the Season 10 blessings, and finally to the Seattle Garages and the Boston Flowers' Shadows in the Season 12 wills.

Official League Records

Debut & Defection

Mcdaniel joined the ILB as a lineup player for the Hades Tigers with the Return of Blaseball.

At the end of Season 1, Umpire Chaff announced two more "mystery blessings" that "happened at the same time as the regular election but were not officially part of said election." This caused Mcdaniel to defect from the Hades Tigers to the Hawai'i Fridays, in exchange for Nolanestophia Patterson. In words of Blaseball officials, "There is still no clear answer for why this happened."

Season 3

On Season 3, Day 34, McDaniel swallowed a peanut and experienced a yummy reaction, increasing Mcdaniel's batting stats to .

On Season 3, Day 73, McDaniel hit the game winning home run at the bottom of the 10th inning against the Kansas City Breath Mints, breaking the standing tie for 6th place in the Good League.

During the Season 3 elections, Mcdaniel was traded from the Fridays to the Breckenridge Jazz Hands for Bevan Underbuck via the Highway Robbery blessing, then immediately traded to the Crabs for Holden Stanton via the Headhunter blessing. The first blessing targets "the best player in the league," and the second blessing targets "the best hitter in your subleague," proving that Mcdaniel is an exceptionally valuable player.

Season 5

During the Season 5 elections, the Baltimore Crabs received the Zombies, Run! Presents Horde Hallucinations, Rollback Netcode, and Falling Stars blessings, all dramatically increasing McDaniel's overall stats, including a batting stat of . Immediately after these blessings resolved, the Seduction blessing caused Mcdaniel to be traded back to the Jazz Hands for Holden Stanton, in a coincidental reversal of the Season 3 trade.

Season 6

On Season 6, Day 29, Mcdaniel's baserunning ability was siphoned by San Francisco Lovers lineup player Sigmund Castillo in the Blooddrain, reducing it from to .

Following the end of the regular games in Season 6, Mcdaniel and Jessica Telephone received the  SHELLED modification, which encased them in giant peanut shells. They cannot play in this state, effectively skipping them in the rotation. This was a result of the The Third Strike.

In a repeat of the Season 3 trade, Mcdaniel was traded to the Baltimore Crabs in exchange for Holden Stanton during the Season 6 elections via the Headhunter blessing.

Season 9

After being  SHELLED for three whole regular seasons, McDaniel finally was pecked free from their shell by birds on Season 9, Day 103. As with other players who have been deshelled, Mcdaniel now has the modification Superallergic.

Following the Season 9 election, Mcdaniel received two Modifications due to the passing of decrees: Fire Eater from the passing of the Forecast: Eclipse decree, and Siphon modification from the passing of the Forecast: Blooddrain decree.

Season 10

Following the ascension of the Baltimore Crabs from their Season 10 Internet Series victory, Mcdaniel was traded to the Hawai'i Fridays due to the People's Champion blessing.

Coffee Cup

During the Coffee Cup, Mcdaniel played for the Americano Water Works as a pitcher.

Season 12

During the Season 12 elections, Mcdaniel was traded to the Seattle Garages in exchange for Greer Gwiffin via the Plunder will, then immediately to the Boston Flowers via the Exchange will in exchange for a just-Shadowed Alaynabella Hollywood.

Season 13

Following Season 13, Day 99, Mcdaniel received the Ego+ modification after being named an MVP. During the Season 13 elections, Mcdaniel was pulled back out of the Shadows as a pitcher by the Flowers' Foreshadow will in exchange for Zeboriah Wilson. Mcdaniel also received the Super Idol modification due to the Center of Attention blessing.

Season 14

Following Season 14, Day 99, Mcdaniel received the Ego++ modification after being named an MVP for the second time. During the Season 14 elections, Mcdaniel was traded back to the Baltimore Crabs in exchange for Parker Parra via the Crabs' Exchange will, becoming a lineup player in the process.

Season 15

Following Season 15, Day 99, Mcdaniel received the Ego++ modification after being named an MVP for the third time. On Season 15, Day 104, Mcdaniel was attacked by Consumers, losing their last Soul. Mcdaniel was then Redacted and removed from the Crabs' roster. During the Season 15 elections, the Boston Flowers attempted to Plunder Mcdaniel, but Mcdaniel remained Redacted, and gained the Unstable modification as well.

Season 16

On Season 16, Day 27, Mcdaniel exited the Secret Base at Worldwide Field, losing Redacted and gaining the Attractor modification. Upon being batted in by Riley Firewall, Mcdaniel joined the Miami Dale's bench.

During the Season 16 elections, McDaniel joined the Dale's active roster (in exchange for Don Elliott) as a result of the Foreshadow will.

Season 17

On Season 17, Day 52, Mcdaniel was exchanged to the Mexico City Wild Wings due to Feedback. Mcdaniel was replaced by Summers Preston.

On Season 17, Day 94, Mcdaniel became a pitcher due to Reverb.

After Day 99 of Season 17, Mcdaniel was Preserved.
