Official League Records

Melcon joined the ILB as a pitcher for the Hades Tigers after the incineration of Yazmin Mason on Season 7, Day 71.

During the Season 9 elections, Melcon's pitching increased from 2.2 2.8 as a result of the Mutually Arising blessing

On Season 10, Day 1, Melcon pitched a game against the Yellowstone Magic that ended with a score of 9 to -2, thanks to the Targeted Shame decree counting the 10-13 shaming the Tigers gave the Magic on Season 9, Day 99. This made Melcon the first pitcher in Blaseball history to have a negative ERA at any point during a season.[1]

On Season 10, Day 21, Melcon's pitching ability was siphoned by New York Millennials pitcher Theodore Cervantes in a game with Blooddrain weather, decreasing it from 2.8 2.2 .

During the Coffee Cup, Melcon played for Macchiato City as a lineup player.

On Season 13, Day 1, in the seventh inning of a game against the Miami Dale, Melcon was targeted by a Rogue Umpire. Due to the Tigers' Umpire Cream rendering Melcon Fireproof, the attempted incineration failed, backfiring and instead incinerating the umpire.[2]

During the Season 14 elections, Melcon gained a combined 9.6 14.9 as a result of the Infuse Will. Their pitching was also boosted as a result of the Non-Dominant Arms Blessing, resulting in a 3.8 4.0 .

During the Season 15 elections, Melcon retreated to the Tigers' Shadows as a result of the Tigers' Move will.

During the Season 18 elections, Melcon's pitching increased from 3.5 5 as a result of the Tigers' Shadow Infuse will.

During the Season 19 elections, Melcon joined the Tigers' active roster in exchange for Famous Owens as a result of the Tigers' Foreshadow will.

On Season 23, Day 88, Melcon retreated to the Tigers' Shadows in exchange for Bartleby Zhivago at Sixth Circle Stadium via the Ratified Fax Machine.

Player History

Mummy Melcon is a tiger-sphinx who was born in Egypt sometime during the Old Kingdom period. Being exceptionally long lived, and exceptionally curious, she has devoted her life to the study of anthropology and history, particularly to the study of afterlives and different forms of death around the world.

Melcon has visited many places across the world, and is always excited to learn more about other cultures. She is fond of tea, and likes to try different culinary delicacies wherever she goes. She wears scrolls containing her notes on a utility belt around her tiger body, and is often seen writing down her observations, sometimes jotting down quick notes on the cloth wrappings she wraps around her hands.

Around the time of Season 7, rumors of Necromancy in the league brought Melcon to the ILB, and Hades felt like a natural place for her to begin her exploration into the unique interaction with afterlives that occurs during the course of a Blaseball season. She joined the Hades Tigers after witnessing the death of Yazmin Mason.

Melcon has continued her boundless curiosity as a member of the Tigers, and likes to exchange cooking recipes with members of the team. She has also been spotted interviewing similarly long-lived or time-traveling ILB players to learn more from them about their experiences during other time periods.

Umpire Incident in Season 13

The following is an account of the events of Season 13, Day 1, as detailed by a Tigers fan who witnessed them.

Mummy stands at the plate, lost in thought. The umpire snarls in its position, fire seething behind the grille, building and building, waiting for the pitch, waiting for its opportunity.

Suddenly, with a flourish she signs off her notebook. Snaps it shut. Looks over and across as the blaze reaches a fever pitch. The umpire howls.

"Ah. I do believe I've made a breakthrough."

After killing an Umpire on Day 1 of Season 13, Melcon was introduced to the Miami Dale’s protector and ump slayer, Raúl Leal. The two of them traded kandi bracelets to commemorate their victory. Following Leal’s death later on in the season, Melcon has been seen still wearing her bracelet as a memento.

Trivia

  • Melcon owns over 60 types of tea from around the world, but prefers cheap PG Tlips herself.
  • Melcon's fastball clocks in at a respectable 87 mph, but she struggles with the more complex pitches due to her smooth, dry wrappings. Tigers management found some success in having her periodically touch Richmond Harrison for moisture, but in an unpleasant turn of phrase, the ILB ruled this a spitball.
  • Mummy Melcon is close friends with the parents of actor Rami Mlalek, of Mr. Notarobot fame.
  • Mummy Melcon is planning an upcoming vacation to the La Brea Tar Pits, where certainly nothing unexpected will happen.
