Mikan Hammer
Mikan Hammer was a player in the Shadows for the Breckenridge Jazz Hands, and was with the team from the Season β16 elections until Fall Ball. Hammer has played for the New York Millennials.

Hammer joined the ILB as a pitcher for the New York Millennials on Season β16, Day 88 after the incineration of Chorby Soul.
Hammer was traded to the Breckenridge Jazz Hands in exchange for Conrad Vaughan during the Season β16 elections via the Millennials' Equivalent Exchange will.
During the Season β17 elections, Hammer retreated to the Jazz Hands' Shadows as a result of the Jazz Hands' Move will, resulting in a combined 10.7 → 11.3 stat increase.
During the Season β18 elections, Hammer rejoined the Jazz Hands' lineup in exchange for Campos Arias as a result of the Jazz Hands' Foreshadow will.
On Season β20, Day 38, Hammer was swept 
and gained the Negative modification as a result of Riley Firewall's Undertaker modification.
On Season β21, Day 82, Hammer retreated to the Jazz Hands' Shadows in exchange for Spears Rogers at the Breckenridge Community Field via the Ratified Voicemail.

History
Mikan Hammer is a blacksmith god whose physical form came into being 12,000 years ago in what would later become ancient Sumer. Hammer's physical form is that of a tall and heavyset humanoid citrus fruit, though what variety of citrus is unknown and generally accepted to be a kind of tangerine. Hammer lacks a mouth and communicates primarily via sign language. If they need to communicate something urgent, the recipient will just feel what they have to say instead. Hammer identifies as agender and accepts any pronoun.
Hammer spent the last 12,000 years travelling the Earth, curious for new experiences throughout their long life. Their travels led them to Broadway in New York City, where their path crossed with Blaseball on Day 88 of Season β16. Hammer emerged on the field of Battin’ Island after a citywide power surge caused by the release of Chorby Soul’s lengthy scream upon their incineration. Hammer is reported to have greeted Thomas Dracaena by his first name with a calm familiarity Dracaena did not appear to appreciate.
Petty Rivalry with Thomas Dracaena
Not long after Hammer joined the New York Millennials, their teammates became keenly aware that Hammer and Thomas Dracaena had a preexisting petty rivalry. Hammer had been seen teasing Dracaena and presenting him with silver-handled blades they had forged, which Dracaena accepted while wearing gloves. After overhearing Dracaena complain to all that would listen about his search recommendations becoming overrun by boars, Millennials players discovered that Dracaena had been attempting to acquire an Etruscan Boar Vessel for years. Millennials players also discovered that Hammer had both an Etruscan Boar Vessel and an eBlay account that often auctioned said vessel. Dracaena would bid on the auctions, but was always outbid at the last minute by Richardson Games. When asked, Hammer claimed that the eBlay account was "the newest part of a centuries-long Sisyphean task." Dracaena has not made any ground on acquiring the vessel.
Breckenridge Jazz Hands
At the end of Season β16, Hammer expressed to their team that they had “unfinished business” in Breckenridge, but would not elaborate. Coincidentally, Conrad Vaughan of the Breckenridge Jazz Hands was looking to return to faer old team after the loss of both Chorby Soul and Winnie Mccall. Hammer and Vaughan exchanged teams and Hammer joined the Jazz Hands’ rotation for Season β17. When Hammer was on the mound, their new teammates noticed their peculiar pitching technique of hitting the ball with a custom forging hammer. When asked about this, Hammer explained that they made the tool millennia ago, but did not elaborate on how they made it nor why they were pitching with it.
The Smithy
Upon The Pocket being granted a smithy during the Season β17 elections, Hammer chose to leave the mound and run the new facility from the team's Shadows. Hammer’s extensive blacksmithing experience made the facility especially efficient, to the point that it often repaired the items of away teams. Hammer quickly became known by their teammates for their intense and occasionally detrimental focus on repairing items. The Pocket’s groundskeepers regularly report finding the odd sharpened prop weapon in the stadium’s prop storage.
Instrument
When introduced to the Jazz Hands' usual jam session, Hammer found themselves drawn to the percussion section. When presented with the “new player instrument fee” by fellow player Steph Weeks, Hammer gave Weeks a handful of ancient Sumerian shekels. Weeks has so far been unable to successfully return the ancient coinage, with Hammer always giving the coins back.
Relationship with Lancelot Kane
After the incineration of Bauer Zimmerman, Hammer was seen entering The Pit and emerged from the depths later on followed by Lancelot Kane, who replaced Zimmerman. Kane is revealed to have been trapped over 1500 years in the past in Arthurian times due to the set of cursed armor she was wearing. Hammer confirmed that they both made the set of armor and gave it to The Pit in the past millennium, but clarified that it was not cursed when they left it in Breckenridge. Teammates noted that Hammer and Kane seemed especially close outside of games. Hammer and Kane confirmed that they had met and had a relationship in the past and that they were continuing it in the present.
Leaving the Shadows
Hammer later joined the lineup during the Season β18 elections in a swap with Campos Arias, bringing their signature hammer to the plate with more success than their time on the mound. Despite their increased workload, Hammer still finds time to repair items in the smithy when they are not actively in play or fielding.

- Hammer has never given a consistent backstory when asked about their signature hammer, and the origins of the tool are disputed by their teammates.
- When Riley Firewall joined the Jazz Hands, Hammer taught him more ASL.
