Personal Life (Prime)

Destiny was a human trans man born to a Kuwaiti and Greenlander couple in Longview, WA. Destiny's parents wanted nothing for their son other than to become the greatest surfer in the Pacific Northwest and thus picked the name "Malik Destiny" ("Malik" meaning "king" in Arabic and "wave" in Greenlandic). However, Destiny had other plans. In a XX18 interview he stated, "My parents meant well, but I'm actually terrified at water and think monarchy is inherently unjust and immoral. There's only one splort where I can safely express both of those without shame: Blaseball."

When he joined the team he also became a hurdy-gurdy player for The Sensational Seattle Garages.

He has a tattoo that reads "Death to Kings" and never takes a shower longer than 2 minutes.

Destiny collects gunblades, but has been ordered by the League to never use one during a game.

Personal Life (Alternate)

The Alternate form of Malik Destiny, known to fans as "Meowlick," "Myalik," or "Nyalik," is a trans male catboy born to a Kuwaiti and Greenlander couple in Longview Fields, Lesser Washington. They wanted nothing for their son other than to become the greatest sailor in the Pacific Northwest and thus picked the name "Malik Destiny" ("Malik" meaning "king" in Arabic and "wave" in Greenlandic). However, Destiny had other plans. In a XX18 interview he stated, "My parents meant well, but I'm actually terrified of water and think monarchy is inherently unjust and immoral. There's only one splort where I can safely express both of those without shame: adventuring."

In his Prime Reality, Destiny set out on a heroic quest to vanquish both the King who ruled the lands of LW, and the God who granted them the right to rule. His quest was abruptly ended when he was swapped with his alternate reality self, but he decided that Blaseball was just as fun.

He has a tattoo that reads "Death to Kings", and never takes a shower longer than 2 minutes. During his adventure, he wielded a gunblade inscribed with the words "Kill God :3 nya". Upon joining the Garages, he made an agreement with the League that he would not be allowed to use a gunblade during games, but may instead use a cosmetic enchantment to make any bat he's holding look like a gunblade. As with his prime self, he is a hurdy-gurdy player for the The Sensational Seattle Garages.

During Season 7 and the events that followed the resurrection of Jaylen Hotdogfingers, Destiny was one of the more vocal members of the Seattle Garages that rallied behind the indebted pitcher. “Jaylen got hit by a curse, we just have to figure out how to undo it.” This support of Hotdogfingers did not waver, even in light of having the Unstable modifier chain to him during the Postseason, after the incineration of Miguel Wheeler.

During the Season 9 Elections, Destiny gained the Fire Eater ability. He put this to use several times during the season, gloating each time he thwarted an umpire. Destiny attributes his newfound abilities to “leveling up”, stating “well, I was unstable and survived so obviously I learned the secret technique of how to beat it!" Other rumors suggest that Destiny was given his fire eater status due to Jaylen Hotdogfingers' bargaining with the Microphone shortly after Destiny was made unstable, though there is no evidence to prove this.

Regardless of its origins, Destiny takes his role as Fire Eater surprisingly seriously, claiming it is his job to be the team’s “tank” now. “Before I was doing my job by getting us runs and hitting the ball real good, but now I can actually keep the team safe.”

Destiny is in an established open relationship with band member Nolanestophia Patterson. When asked if Patterson's shadowing has affected their relationship any, Destiny responded "Why would it? She's doing her best to help the team however she can. I'm sure we'll find a way to get her back on the field eventually. Until then, having her leading our cheering has been great for everyone's morale! I know I play better hearing her get me hyped..."

Hijinks and Tomfoolery

Malik Destiny is perhaps best known off the field for his penchant to get into mischief. The list of places he is banned from is long and storied, but this does not stop him from continuing to break into these places and cause mayhem wherever he roams. Some attribute this behavior to being from a land that encouraged thievery, others say it is in the nature of being part cat. However, Destiny was cited at an afterparty saying his true reasoning for the shenanigans is to bring the team closer together and keep spirits up.

Despite these reports of destruction and mayhem, Destiny is also known for going on what he calls “side quests”, helping random strangers around the city regardless of complexity or difficulty. He has a number of tasks he likes to do regularly, called “dailies”, which often consist of cooking for the homeless, cleaning up trash, and helping Oliver Mueller and Paula Turnip liberate food from overpriced grocery stores.

When asked for comment on persistent rumors that Destiny's community service efforts have led to repeated altercations with law enforcement and multiple outstanding warrants, Garages' team captain Theodore Duende told the press: "What am I, his boss? Next question."

Trivia:

- Malik will respond to any catfolk name.

- For a duration of time, Destiny believed that the guitar picks he kept finding around by breaking open boxes in the Garages storage were the currency of this world called Tricoins, and attempted to purchase goods with them. Now he has taken to feeding them to Pitching Machine before games, insisting that it will increase its performance on the field. Pitching Machine seems to have no issue with this, taking the picks regardless of which form it is in that day.

- Against all odds, Destiny is one of the better cooks on the team. He claims he poured his experience points into cooking to keep his team ready for battle. While Destiny is good with the food part of cooking, he does still occasionally forget that plastic cannot go into the oven, or that aluminum foil should not be microwaved.

- Allegations have been made against the Garages pitching lineup, as some believe that a number of the balls used to pitch are coated in fur from Destiny and Patterson, or perhaps are even composed entirely of it, but these balls strangely can never be found after games to do DNA tests on.
