Dunlap Figueroa is a pitcher for the Hades Tigers, and has been with the team since the Season 14 elections. Figueroa has also played for the Chicago Firefighters.
Official League Records
Figueroa joined the ILB as a pitcher for the Hades Tigers with the Return of Blaseball.
Despite a rating, Figueroa has historically proven to be a strong performer, having the best ERA and WHIP of any pitcher in the league during Season 3.[1] Figueroa's Season 4 performance was not so overpowering, posting at 10th in the league with an ERA of 3.00 and the 4th most strikeouts, though they continued to allow remarkably few walks, only 4 for the entire season.
Figueroa was the first pitcher in ILB history to reach 100 recorded regular season wins, completing this milestone on Season 8, Day 98, and subsequently the first pitcher to reach 100 recorded regular season quality starts on Season 9, Day 75. In Season 16, Figueroa became the first pitcher to record 3,000 career strikeouts, albeit playing in a shortened 3-pitcher rotation.
Figueroa pitched a single game in Season 4's Internet Series, the crucial game 5 against the Canada Moist Talkers, an 11-inning performance including 14 strikeouts.[2]
In the Season 9 Elections, Figueroa was affected by the Tag Team Pitching blessing, increasing their pitching rating from to .
During the Coffee Cup, Figueroa played for Club de Calf as a pitcher.
In Season 12, Figueroa achieved a career-best ERA (2.17), WHIP (0.661), and Strikeouts per 9 (11.9) across 25 games, as well as pitching an Immaculate Inning to defeat the Mexico City Wild Wings in game 3 of round 1 of the Internet Series. They subsequently Evolved to Base1 as a result of the Tigers' third championship victory.
On Season 14, Day 79, Figueroa was exchanged to the Chicago Firefighters due to Feedback. Figueroa was replaced by NaN, but continued to pitch the remainder of game 79 for both teams simultaneously. In their five games as a Firefighter, Figueroa posted two shutouts. During the Season 14 elections, Figueroa was swapped back to the Tigers for Gabriel Griffith via the Firefighters' exchange Will. Figueroa was also affected by the Tigers' Non-Dominant Arms blessing, although their pitching rating remained .
During the Season 15 playoffs, Day 102, Figueroa was attacked by Consumers, reducing their pitching to , batting to , Defence to , and baserunning to .
In the Wild Card round of Season 16, Figueroa was attacked by Consumers for a second time, further reducing their pitching to , and their other ratings to the minimum protected by their Evolution. Although Figueroa matched the Chicago Firefighters' six-star pitcher Lou Roseheart for a further five innings after the attack, the Firefighters eventually took the game in the bottom of the 11th inning.

Figueroa is a trained classical theatre actrex, constantly changes outfits between innings, and traditionally breaks out into hours-long soliloquies that can last the duration of a game. They will also frequently give an aside to the audience after each strikeout they throw. Much of Figueroa's work has been transcribed and collected by fans.[3][4]
They are genderfluid, and comfortable with any pronouns.
Figueroa's father, Elvis, is also a professional blaseball player, currently on the Philly Pies.
They are widely feared for throwing a wide variety of junk pitches, including some that they invented themselves and have no name for, as well as basically having no fastball.
She is frequently seen to manifest multiple additional faces and arms. It is unclear as to whether he natively possesses these body parts or is acting with such skill that he is able to project multiple theatrical performances simultaneously. When reached for comment on this phenomena, they launched into a three hour soliloquy which lasted until they were called up to the pitcher's mound.
As with many Tigers, Figueroa considered Moody Cookbook to be something of a father figure. After Cookbook's incineration on Season 7, Day 32, Figueroa pitched the following game in the series, and tore through the Canada Moist Talkers' lineup at rapid pace in a bid to end the game as quickly as possible. They dedicated their 13 strike outs in the game to Cookbook's memory. During Season 8, Figueroa unveiled another tribute in the form of an inner-forearm tattoo comprised of the fragments of recipe found on a surviving page of Cookbook.
Figueroa has also taken to occasionally wearing or keeping around their neck sunglasses in similar style to those of Mclaughlin Scorpler, a fashion choice they have referred to as their teammate "broadening their horizons."
In the wake of the Feedback trade of Paula Turnip to the Seattle Garages, Figueroa stepped into the vacated role of Players Union representative. Given their support of art-as-protest, and noted history of pitching on their pace rather than the Umpires', they have proven to be a natural fit.
Select collections of Figueroa's poetry are sold in the Hades Gift Shop, the proceeds of which are donated to charity.
Firefighting Career
Reflecting upon the game in which they were sent to the Firefighters, Figueroa spoke thus:
"Twas a twofold pull. The feedback, yes, but something else. Louder. Softer.
"The Call.
"It said... this was out of anyone's control. To take solace in whatever was left of this game, whatever time was left, to be a Tiger.
"That a home would be waiting on the far side."
Upon their Feedback swap to the Chicago Firefighters, Figueroa struggled to acclimatise to the very different atmosphere and separation from their teammates of 14 seasons. However, Isaac Johnson and Goobie Ballson, having played alongside Figueroa on Club de Calf, took her under their collective wing. Johnson in particular warmed up to Figueroa faster than most, thanks to their similarly aligned views on unions and mutual aid. (Declan Suzanne, another de Calf member, supposedly greeted Figueroa with 'Oh hey it's that Shakespleare lizard' and then returned to playing video games).
With the support of their new teammates, Figueroa tried to make the best of the situation and shortly thereafter started studying and training to help with firefighting responsibilities. Come the end of the season, though, Hades contacted Mx Chicago in an effort to make a deal to bring Figueroa back to the Tigers. When Mx Chicago demurred, explaining that it was dependent on the will of the fans, Hades suggested that Figueroa take the stage for a performance, the better to convey their desire to return.
Conflicted between newfound urges to protect others alongside their new team and homesickness for the old, Figueroa did indeed host a show, an 'inscrutable' and 'frankly baffling' rendition of Cell Block Tango relating to their Feedback and how much they missed the Tigers, but also how much they had learned as a Firefighter. Nevertheless, this apparently worked, as Figueroa was subsequently returned to the Tigers via Wills.
Even so, Figueroa was changed for their experience, their fellow Tigers reporting a little less tendency to showboat, a little more responsibility, and a good deal more enthusiasm for improv. During the S14 siesta, Figueroa completed certification as a firefighter, as well as bringing Paula Mason back to Chicago for a surprise reunion visit - the pair are said to have bonded due to their shared experiences across the teams. Dunlap now acts as a reserve Firefighter, more frequently on call during siesta, extending the same unity and protection she feels as a fireproof Tiger to those in need of help and rescue. Her fellow Firefighters speak highly of her efforts, and have expressed appreciation for the usefulness of glowing Tiger stripes in smoke-filled areas.
Whenever pitching in Tiger/Firefighter games, Figueroa now wears a firefighter jacket over their Tigers jersey, a specially-commissioned article in Tiger colours, presented to them by the Firefighters after they passed certification.
Personal Life
Figueroa is alleged to have some manner of relationship with the Boston Flowers' (formerly of the New York Millennials) Schneider Bendie.[5] When approached for comment, Figueroa replied "Yes, a hostile one." Nevertheless there have been numerous reports of Figueroa and Bendie engaging in semi-flirtatious banter between games, and Figueroa writing romantically longing poetry that could be construed to apply to their so-called rival.[6] Some fans have taken Figueroa approaching Bendie after the Tigers' victory in the Season 4 Internet Series, and the pair's subsequent departure together as a sign of "Dundie Confirmed!", while others contend that the two of them had taken it outside in order to throw down.
Figueroa is the owner of the artwork Mills Apartment Piece, Season 6 Siesta, Framed,[7] acquired during the Ooze Incident resulting from the Ooze Blessing obtained by the Millennials in the Season 6 elections. In evading the ooze, Figueroa lodged themselves in the ceiling of the Mills' apartment, preventing them from being oozed but also becoming stuck there. Building residents later reported "an explosion, then what sounded like a dinosaur screeching".[8] It is unclear why Figueroa was in the Mills' apartment in the first place, but this has done nothing to quell the rumours of an inter-team romance.
