History

COMMUNITY REPORTS
The remainder of this article contains lore created collaboratively by the Blaseball community.

As a young man, Mitchell was orphaned by █████ ████████ ████ ████████. He was found and susequently adopted by a gang of bipedal cats that run a criminal cartel.

Growing up in the prohibition dimension, Mitchell had many opportunities to hone his violent craft, and soon worked his way to the top of the gang hierarchy.

During a routine shakedown of a coffee shop, he met and subsequently fell in love with Knight Triumphant. When forming the SF Lovers, Mitchell volunteered to be a batter due to his prior experience using blaseball bats to destroy kneecaps.

Due to his relationship with Triumphant, Mitchell has softened and now only commits "little a crime as a treat" when not focusing on his Blaseball career.

Time with the Hawaiʻi Fridays

Don Mitchell joined the Fridays as a result of a Feedback swap with the San Francisco Lovers during Season β19, part of a long saga of swaps between the two teams. Mitchell was a paragon of base theft and regularly led the ILB in stolen bases, and as an Idol became a major source of income for Fans. The Snack that corresponded with income from his crimes - pickles - became a calling card of sorts, and a signature part of Mitchell’s mixed drinks. Fans of all teams fixated on the “Donconomy” as Mitchell’s prolific base theft continued. Most Fridays were more surprised when he did not steal home than when he did.

Mitchell was instantly liked by his teammates in Hawaiʻi. He established a friendly rivalry with sentient home plate Evelton McBlase, who frequently joked that Mitchell might one day try to steal his head - his greatest heist of all. Mitchell’s partner at running practice was Beck Whitney, but most famously he joined with the Friday’s own resident absolutely-not-criminal Juice Collins on multiple completely legal ventures, including a sizable investment in timeshares Elsewhere.

With such a major part to play in the Fans’ economy, Mitchell’s MVP status was practically secured. Following the Vaulting of Valentine Games, the Ego-wary Fridays moved moved Mitchell to the rotation, hoping to find him a place to cool off. He was later alternated at the Season β22 elections; while the alternate Mitchell seemed functionally identical to the one that the Fridays had grown accustomed to, rumors circulated that the original Mitchell had used the opportunity to retire from both crime and blaseball - if so, his current whereabouts are unknown.

Whatever the fate of the original Mitchell, the Friday’s new Mitchell was the first of the Rising Stars to be collected by the Vault Legends, during the bottom of the 4th inning of the ILB Semi-Centennial at the end of Season β24. With this final theft in Mitchell’s storied career, his crime spree with the Fridays - and the ILB - was over.

Trivia

  • "Don" is both Mitchell's first name and his title in the criminal cartel he is a part of. This makes his full name and title "Don Don Mitchell".
